Stages of money lundering

Money laundering is the process of transforming the proceeds of crime and
corruption into ostensibly legitimate assets.[1] In a number of legal and regulatory
systems, however, the term money laundering has become conflated with other
forms of financial and business crime, and is sometimes used more generally to
include misuse of the financial system (involving things such as securities, digital
currencies, credit cards, and traditional currency), including terrorism financing and
evasion of international sanctions.[2] Most anti-money laundering laws openly

conflate money laundering (which is concerned with source of funds) with terrorism
financing (which is concerned with destination of funds) when regulating the
financial system.[3]
Types of cheques
Open cheque
An open cheque is a cheque that is not crossed on the left corner and payable
at the counter of the drawee bank on presentation of the cheque.
Crossed cheque
A crossed cheque is a cheque that has been marked to specify an instruction
about the way it is to be redeemed. A common instruction is to specify that it
must be deposited directly into an account with a bank and not immediately
cashed by a bank over the counter.
