Prefatory Statement
This is the complaint-affidavit of complainant, JAKE PASCUAL, Filipino, of legal
age, married and a resident of Los Angeles, California. The statements were taken and
recorded based on the examination made by Atty Johnny Depp, Notary Public for
Tacloban City at the office of the same lawyer on February 10, 2016.
The complainant answered under oath in the English language and had sworn that he
understood his statements made here and stands for their veracity. He was made aware
that he made these statements under oath and fully conscious that he may face criminal
liability for false testimony or perjury.
PURPOSE(S) OF THE AFFIDAVIT
This complain-affidavit is offered for the following purposes:
1. To establish probable cause for the filing of an information for violation of Article
246 of the Revised Penal Code
2. To identify and testify on relevant matters
The following questions were asked and recorded:

It is for the filing of a criminal case against Paula Pascual.

Are you aware that you are only to tell the truth and nothing but the truth and
any false testimony you make will make you criminally liable?

How are you related to the accused?

She is my half sister sir, and the victim was our father.

Where were you last Feb 8?

I was at the hospital sir because I visited my father who was confined their
because our cousin, Pedro, informed me that my father was rushed to the hospital due to
his sickness.

What happened?
A8:
My father is suffering from bitterkala, a rare chronic heart ailment and because
of that he is largely dependent on a life support system to keep him alive sir. But on Feb 7
I was told that my father was rushed to the hospital because their house suddenly short
circuited which was the reason my father was rushed to the hospital because he had
difficulty breathing. If it were not for timely medical attention, he would have died.

What did you do after?

I visited their house to ask my sister what actually happened but she was not
there. While I was there, I noticed an unusual wire attached to my fathers life support
system so I decided to conduct an investigation.

What happened during you investigation?

I notice that one of the wires of my fathers life support system was lengthened
and passed through a clip were clothes are usually hanged in such a way as to cause short
circuit in case the bars of the clip touch each other. I found out that my half sister
intended to kill my father by devising such scheme.

What did you do then?

I immediately called my sister by phone but she would not answer me. Then I
visited her office to ask her about what happened since she is capable of knowing the
situation since she and my father are the only ones living in the their house but she
merely pushed me away and started evading me ever since.
