Morally Responsible Teacher
What are some qualities of a Morally Responsible Teacher?
I believe that a good teacher must be a steward. A teacher must lead by example
in order to get the students to be the best people they can be. Having a good connection
with students is also a valuable asset to being a morally responsible teacher. This allows
students to not only trust their teachers, but also makes them want to try harder due to not
wanting to disappoint their teacher.
How do the MRT qualities connect to the four moral dimensions?
The first moral dimension that ties to being a morally responsible teacher is
Stewardship. This means to be a steward for your students. It involves being resourceful,
well planned, and just having overall responsibility for not only your classroom but
school as well. The second moral dimension is nurturing pedagogy. This includes
providing a caring and welcoming environment for your students. This gives them a
strong connection to the student.
Personal Teaching Interests:
I wish to teach social sciences at the high school level. I would like to focus more
on History and Psychology as my main fields.
Instructional Strategy #1:
What are some thoughts or insights that a morally responsible teacher might have
about your particular policy project topic?
I think that a morally responsible would agree with our groups thesis. We believe
that there should be a reform on school lunches. Over the past decade, childhood obesity
has skyrocketed. It has become a real problem in the U.S. and can lead to future heart
problems.
