it was", to critique the social condition and the any issues which appeared in that era.
through their work the authors wanted to capture the wide diversity of industrial life
and the class conflict and divisions that industrialism created. In drama, there was an
increasingly satirical way, the pretentious values and behavior that they believed
characterized Victorian life. One of the popular playright in the late 19th century was
George Berbard Shaw. Shaw's complete works appeared in thirty-six volumes
between 1930 and 1950, the year of his death.
