Evaluation:

To maintain details related to over 20 sports, Sports staff were using Excel
spreadsheets earlier. However as the sports information is accumulated,
maintaining all the details in the Excel spreadsheets has become a major issue to
the Sports staff.
In order to address all the issues identified, a new MS Access Database
application has been developed to support the Sports staff. This newly developed
Database application contains 9 forms named as - Accounts, Coach, Emergency,
Guardian, MIC, Product, Supervisor and Student for maintaining all the related
details from these areas. Also, in the database 9 different tables have been
created to hold enormous information which can be easily queried, searched or
maintained using the database tables. Also a consolidated accessible form called
Menu is also been developed in the Access Database application which holds all
the forms together which provides ease to the user to access conveniently
whichever the form he would like to open and make changes.
Furthermore, many field level validations are been placed in each of the form
such as not allowing the user to enter invalid length values, skip entering
required values, using special characters in the fields etc. with which users can
be confident that only valid data is getting entered into the database and also
ensure that all required information is not getting missed. Thus, Users can be
reliable on the information available in the system at any point of time.
Also the forms are developed using different tables the pages are loaded very
quickly and save & search functionalities are also working efficiently which shows
that the application is with high performance and there wont be any lag for the
users to operate the system.
Additionally, the application is designed in such way that many users can
concurrently access the application and manage data simultaneously. i.e., can
perform Add, Update and Search functionalities successfully. Which is a big
convenience to the sports staff.
Moreover, a thorough testing has been conducted validating each and every
functionality of the system performing positive and negative testing in order to
make sure that the developed application is capable of handling all the possible
user scenarios and which further confirms that the application is working as
expected.
Hence, we can conclude that this new MS Access Sports database application will
help and support users in thorough maintenance of all sports information
painlessly and efficiently. Also, users can be confident that this application is
reliable, and having ease to use and of with high performance.
Besides, I recommend that the inclusion of other features such as Audit trial
tracking, Events& Schedule form to publish important event information,
Message board form to show messages & notifications etc. in the application
definitely will enhance the Sports application.
