Frequently Asked Questions for Quote Limit Functions

I installed the quote limit and now the Document Server and lock print jobs do not
work?
Answer: Correct, this is a limitation the Document Server functions for copying and
printing are no longer available. If Document Server was functional then they can print
or copy to Document Server and not click on the counter of the application.

Can I have another accounting application such as eCopy, Equitrac, PSC Print
Director if I use quote limit functions?

Answer: No, this is a limitation; you can not have quote limit function with any other
accounting application.

I installed the quote limit function for my MFP for copying only but it does not
work.
Answers:
Even if you are using it for coping only, a printer/scanner option must be installed
and functional.
All models require a HDD and extra memory.
Be sure the Java card is at the correct firmware version. UT Extended Features
 install or WIM configuration  Extended Features  start-up (note: the
type is NOT the type of card (ie F, I, J, L) but the type of platform (ie C will be
listed as type because this is a type C platform)
Be sure that there are 7 files is the zip file. If not uninstall and reinstall with all 7
files.
Check SP 5113-1 is set to 0 and SP 5113-2 is set to 1.
Be sure that Enhanced External Charge Management has copier, printer and
Document Server selected

I type in my user code and hit # and it does not go in, why?
Answer: If you use the soft keys to enter your user code then you must use the submit key
not the hard enter key.

The user codes I have in the addresses book are not valid in the user codes on the
quota limiter, why?
Answer: This is a separate function all together. You can since use the user codes in the
address book for fax and scanner functions.

Can I see the number of prints I have left on my PC?
Answer: No, You must log-in to the machine to see the number of prints or copies you
have left.

I have a few machines to install and I want to put the same user codes on all the
MFPs. How do I do this?

Answer: Refer to page 13 on the Administrator Guide, you must use the csv file
contented in the UserActLim.zip file. Column a is the user code, column b is the B/W
limit and column C is the color limit. We suggest even if you have B/W MFPs you and
the color for your customers future needs.

We tried loading the csv file to several MFP and some worked and some did not.
Why?
Answer: The csv file will not load if there are any user codes already programmed.
Check to be sure there are no user codes in the MFP before loading the CSV file.

What is the default administrator name and password?
Answer: The default administrator name is admin and the default password is password.
10.
What is the limit of copies of prints that can be made?
Answer: You can set the the limited amount for B/W and Color from 0-999999.

What is the max user codes that can be used?
Answer: The maximum of 500 user codes can be added.
12.
What is the range of numbers that can be used for a user code?
Answer: You can add any user code number once from 1-99999999

Will this work when using lock, sample or any of the other jobs in the driver?

Answer: Yes, You can not use any lock, store, etc jobs, you can send to the Document
Server but there is no way to print it afterwards for the op panel or the user code in WIM.
14.

I know if you run out of B/W quota the remaining balance will be taken from the color
quota, does this mean that all copies/print will continue to be taken from the color quota?

Answer: Yes, but you must logout and back in again in copy mode and printing will do it
automatically

If you run out of your color quota does this mean that all copies/print will continue to be
taken from the B/W quota?

Answer: When copying on a color MFP and the color limit has been reached and there
are remaining B/W allowances, if the user wishes to copy from this B/W allowance the
user must logout and then login to do so. Printing will do it automatically
16.

Will I have to fill out a custom form to get the files?

Yes, RAC (Ricoh Americas Corporation) and RCL (Ricoh Company Limited) need to
know how often the item is being used and for what models.
17.

Where can I find the firmware and installation instruction?

Answer: On the TSRC website, under solutions, management solutions.

18.

Can I have authorization (ie windows, LDAP user codes) on the MFP?

Answer: No, this is step 3 of the installation guide.


19.

What is the difference between stop per job and Stop per page in admin settings?

Answer: Stop per job - When a user sends a job to the device and limit reaches, the job is
cancelled. When limit doesnt reach the job is printed.
Stop per page When a user sends a job to the device when quote is reached, the job is
rest if limit is reached while printing.
20.

Can to user name for admin be changed?

Answer: No, admin is the only admin user name you can use.
21.

If the customer forgets the password for admin, how do you get it back?

The application will have to be reloaded.


22.

Can the list of user codes be printed?

No, You can view on the op panel of the MFP only.


23.

Can admin tools lock out the user management and still use this feature?

Yes, to stop someone from turning off the limit feature through, you can turn on admin
management, in machine management admin tools. The admin of the MFP is separate
from the admin of the application. If you forget this admin user name or password and
also forgot the supervisor password, you will still need to replace the NVRAM of the
MFP controller. The user management in admin is for the MFP user codes not the
applications user codes.
