supporting him through those
actions.
“He's still obviously
pretty flat and devastated and

players hold most dearest to
them and that's playing games of
football, being out there on the
weekend in the heat of battle.
“But for Michael to be
around a football club, around the
environment that is elite and
professional, it's really important
for him to understand that he's
back in the fold now.
“What we expect of him is
the type of behaviour values that
we hold really highly.”

unsigned for next year despite
Fremantle's flying 8-2 start to
the season, and Pavlich
stopped curiously short of
approving an extension.
“Mark's going really well
at the moment, he's coaching
fantastically well and he's got a
great support group behind
him,” Pavlich said.
“I'm not going to
comment on anything else
except for he's doing a good job
at this point in time.”

Broncs call for calm after Folau defection
Brisbane Broncos chief
executive Bruno Cullen says
Israel Folau's defection to the
AFL is no cause for the NRL to
panic.
If Cullen's information is
correct then Folau has become the
highest paid Australian-based
player across all four football codes.
Folau has yet to kick an
Australian rules goal, but -
according to Cullen - the AFL has
agreed to shell out a staggering $6
million to secure his services for the
Greater Western Sydney franchise.
"We're talking $6 million
over four years," Cullen said.
"That's what I've heard. We (rugby
league) can't match that.
"Everyone has to
understand the money is not in our
game to match these types of
offers."
The high-profile Broncos
have seen a stream of stars depart
to other codes since 2001 with Brad
Thorn, Wendell Sailor, Lote Tuqiri
and Berrick Barnes going to rugby
union before the AFL moved in for

"I think it's a very smart move
by the AFL and those clubs to lift their
profile.
"It's somewhat amusing that
a code like the AFL, who want to spout
about being the most popular and
largest footy code in the country,
needs two rugby league players to
introduce two new franchises.
"In saying that, I can
understand what they are doing
because we are talking about rugby
league territory and a public relations
exercise more than getting two good
AFL players at this point in time."
Cullen admits the Broncos

new lap record of 1:48.045 around the
4.907km layout in race one. But as
Checa was forced to retire with
electrical problems, Biaggi, riding for
Aprilia, won both races to take the
championship lead.
“We've had a double win,
which is very helpful to me and my
team,” said Biaggi.
“I was a little bit lucky
because Checa had some trouble,
but the Aprilia is only one-and-a-half
years old and we have developed it
into a very strong machine. It is a
winning machine.”
