Part I: TECHNICAL PROPOSAL

1. Introducing eToilet: Indias First Electronic Public Toilet
eToilet (patent pending) is a modular, pre-fabricated public toilet made of steel and is
integrated with user-friendly electronic interfaces, to ensure cleanliness and hygiene to
every user. Unmanned and automated, eToilets have remote monitoring capabilities and
its health status can be tracked over web. These toilets incorporate full-cycle approach in
sustainable sanitation by integrating electrical, mechanical and web-mobile technologies.
They control entry, usage, cleaning, and remote monitoring capabilities with multiple
revenue options.

3. Functional Description
eToilet has to be placed on a basic civil construction base. The unit has an Indian style
closet, health faucet, lights, status display &instruction boards, etc. as the case may be.
Water tank of 225 litre capacity will be erected on top of the toilet unit. The tank will be
connected to the three flushes (pre-flush/platform washing/ after use flush) in the unit.
There will be display light outside the toilet unit, which shows whether the unit is
Occupied indicating with Red light or Unoccupied indicating with Green light. The user
can enter by inserting coin in case of pay-per-use eToilet or press the switch for free
access eToilet and close the door manually, similar to a conventional toilet.
Upon entering the toilet, indoor lights will be switched on automatically. Pre-flush system
will wet the closet initially. Toilet flush can be activated using a manual flush cock

provided inside the toilet. Even if the user forgets to flush after usage, the system will
automatically flush after the exit. Exit from the unit is completely manual. An automatic
floor cleaning mechanism is also provided through which, the floor will be cleaned
automatically. The floor cleaning can be activated either through a push switch or it can
be programmed to function after a specified usage.
The eToilet, though it has integrated several electronic technologies for its smooth
operations, does not provide any complex electronic interface for the common man. The
electronic systems are purely utilised for effective management of the eToilets.

Connected eToilet Infrastructure

eToilets can be connected over a GPRS network, which ensure real-time monitoring of the
usage and health status of the eToilets. This can be viewed and managed over a web
interface for ensuring minimal downtime and standardised maintenance operations. A
dedicated team of Service Engineers attend to technical trouble shooting of the eToilets.

4. Additional/ Optional Items

4.1 Sewage Treatment
eToilet offers comprehensive solutions for sewage treatment. It can be connected to Bio
digester (DRDO technology), which is an anaerobic treatment system.
Alternatively, eToilet can be connected to the existing sewer line or septic tank.

Eram Scientific is an authorized licensee and Transfer of Technology (ToT) Holder of the
Defense Research and Development Organizations (DRDO) Bio-digester technology.

1. Price Conditions
eToilet Total price inclusive of Excise Duty @ 12.5% & CST @ 5%.
Service Tax 15%, if applicable, will be extra on installation-commissioning charges.
Any changes in taxes at the time of placing the order will be applicable. All other
taxes such as Local levies, Entry tax, Octroi etc. extra at actuals at buyers end.
Transportation-Installation-Commissioning charges may vary as per the distance,
location and site conditions.
After expiry of warranty period, the Client can enter into a separate annual
agreement or services can be availed on an on-call basis.

2. Payment Terms
100% payment for units after delivery of units at site, 95% payment of

3. Warranty
Systems supplied by us are warranted for satisfactory performance, under normal and
specified conditions of use, for a period of 6 Months from the date of commissioning. The
warranty shall cover technical support, spare replacement, web support and insurance.
Coin collections for 6 months will be done by Eram Scientific Solutions as the units are
under warranty period.
4. Annual Maintenance Contract
After the warranty period, we will ensure system support through an Annual Maintenance
Contract for a limited period after the expiry of the initial warranty period of 6 months
through a separate agreement. The AMC options are:
1.
Comprehensive AMC which can cover technical and cleaning support @ 18% of
unit price per year
2.
Part AMC which covers technical support only @Rs. 3000 per month per unit
(cleaning support excluded). The Client has to make necessary arrangements
for the cleaning support.
3.
On-call Service Support will be billed on case-to-case basis on the cost of the
spare parts replacement/repair if any, personnel allowance, travel etc.
