Classification of Hotels

Hotels are generally classified by their style and location. Each


classification is geared to a specific clientele. Several companies classify
hotels according to amenities and services by using a star system. The
more stars, the more luxurious the hotel. For the most part, classifications
can vary within each type of hotel style. However, it is rare for budget
hotels to attain extremely high ratings, because they do not have the
amenities necessary for higher classifications.

These hotels are situated at the heart of city, basically

include luxury establishments that provide exceptional hospitality
and service.

4-Star Rating
Properties with 4-star ratings offer a high level of superior
services, luxurious facilities and an array of amenities. Four-star
hotels are often near shopping districts, provide live entertainment
and offer formal dining. Accommodations come decorated with
stylish and modern dcor. Guests typically have access to a fitness
center and on-site pool. In addition, these properties are spacious
and may offer reception spaces

3-Star Rating
When you opt for a 3-star accommodation, major companies,
shopping centers and major expressways typically surround the
hotel. Such facilities offer spacious accommodations, access to a
fitness center and swimming pools. On-site restaurants typically
serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

2-Star Rating
Hotels with a 2-star rating might be independently owned or
part of a small to medium chain of establishments. Usually these
properties sit close to area attractions. Rooms come with basic
amenities, including televisions and telephones. Some hotels
provide limited restaurant services, such as serving breakfast. Room
service is not typically offered.

1-Star Rating
Hotels with 1-star ratings offer basic accommodations. These
hotels offer few services and rarely have additional amenities like
laundry rooms, fitness centers and swimming pools. The majority of
1-star hotels do not have on-site restaurants, but most are near
public transportation and have plenty of restaurants within walking
distance.
