I am a Certified Professional having more than twelve years of experience in

information technology, currently employed as Sr.Support Engineer in a
highly demanding environment.My expertise lies in design, administration,
performance tuning, backup, recovery, production support, multi-node
installation & migration and maintenance of Enterprise Unix and Storage
systems. This include extensive experience on HP UX , Red Hat EL Oracle
Solaris 11 and enterprise storage from NetApps , EMC (VMAX,Cx3/4 ) and
HP (3par StoreServ ,EVAs ,XP12K , now p - series) in High Availability
suits and , as well , standalone configurations. I have done 2 storage
migration projects from EVA to VMAX , using hot and cold pull
methodology and EVA to Netapps ,using lvm mirroring and disk dumps
scripts.I have also completed 2 fabric migration projects for brocade
switches.
Previous experience not only include highly regulated and compliance
environments like Johnson &Johnson (offshore, HCL), but, mission critical
environments like Banking. Rahul has experience in managing of large SAN
from various vendors and brocade SAN switches. He has good technical
know-how about high end storage solution. He has also performed the

management & data center setup, capacity planning, designing purging and

Responsibilities (as in JD):

1) Participate in capacity planning and sizing based on the

requirement gathering session with the application/business
owner for the new and existing application. Designing the
proposed solution and getting the same approved from
stakeholders.
2) Proposing the Infrastructure diagram, for solution chosen
with respect to servers, virtualization, middle tier, databases,
getting the same approved from the solution requirement
owner and solution vendor for flotation of RFPs.
3) Trouble shoot storage and fabric issues at customer
premises and led to resolution, within Specified SLAs or
escalate to concern vendors and follow-up until resolution.
Storage environment is heterogeneous VMAX series , 3PAR ,
Netapp , Equal logic and san switches from brocade.

3)General Unix Admin configuration and management task, on

HP -UX v 3.1 and 2.3 create and maintaining LVM/VxVM ,
VxVM volumes and storages. Red Hat (RHEL 5 and 6) and
Oracle Solaris OS Admin task for management of file systems
and clusters in production, test and development
environments.
4) Installing and configuring HP UX v3 operating system RX
series standalone partition able, rack mount and blade
servers. Managing Netapps and EVA for Production and DR

and proactive patching strategy. Using Red Hats customer
portal for registering and patching servers.
8) Maintains corresponding servers and storage for Test and
development environment at banks DR site.
9) Managing storage, from different vendors, allocates LUNS as
and when necessary, capacity planning for the same
.Controllers, switch and EVA disk firmware upgrade, in
coordination with vendors.

10) Analyzing any requirement in terms of server and storage

capacity and presenting the same to higher management.
11) Red hat cluster suite configuration with iSCSI based
storage solutions like Dell s EqualLogic , MSA (HP) etc.
,establish and demonstrate the feature of the same during
testing phase to IT audit and compliance, application support
team ,before releasing the same in production environment.
12) Install and integrate channels (FI, C-24 and internet
banking) , for Finacle instances in test and DR. Install
Finacle instances from scratch , analogous to existing
production instances. Validate business test cases and
coordinate with Infosys for resolving issues, ensure that team
members follow up and resolve cases to business content.

13) Involvement in annual DR drill of bank, preparing the DR

server for the same and active participation in the same.

Environment: Consists of more than 700 HP UX server , around 500 Solaris
and Red Hats servers serving various Parma locations for its subsidiaries ,
located in US and around the word elsewhere .The JnJ datacenter , operated
under strict SLAs , with regulation and guidelines adhering to best in
industry ITIL practices and Parma regulatory body of US . The
conglomeration of latest infrastructure is divided into 5 datacenters, the

ticketing system managed by Remedy and monitoring by HP Open View, for

backup VERITAS Net Backup is being used.
