Uninstalling Java Auto Updater with Wsus

Each time Java is installed, there is an Auto Updater component installed. This component is started
at each reboot.

This is the way to uninstall this component via Wsus.

1) First, locate the MSI. Open Regedit and search for Java Auto Updater in the
HKLM\Software\Classes\Installer\Products key. Look the directory where the MSI is.

2) Start Wsus Package Publisher and drag and drop the MSI file to the TreeView. This will start
the creation of a new update:

3) Fill Vendor Name, Product Name and Title fields then click Next:

4) Leave the rule as is and check Delete Rules at Package level. Then Click Next:

5) Leave the rule as is and check Delete Rules at Package Level. Then Click Publish:

6) Select the newly publish update. Select your test group. Right click on a test computer and
click Send Detect Now:

7) Wait a minute to let the computer detecting the new update. Right-Click on the test
computer and click Send Report Now:

8) The computer report that Java Auto Updater is installed. We will uninstall it.

9) Right-Click on the update and select Approve:

10) Approve it for Uninstallation on test group:

11) On the test computer go to Windows Update and launch a detection.

12) Launch the Uninstallation:

14) Uninstallation terminated:

15) You can verify that the process launch at startup has been removed. Files in the Program
Files\Common Files have been removed too.
