service, as well as provide a field overview of the many and varied
aspects of the fire service.
Students will earn certificates for most aspects of the fire service prior to
the end of the school year.
The students will learn each aspect of the course through their
demonstration of: Safety Participation Attendance

Course Outline
Students will need to participate in all classroom and field training exercises
throughout both the fall and spring semesters in order to complete all of the
requirements for Firefighter I certification.

Course Objectives
Students will understand and perform all of the necessary duties associated
with the components of the following subjects:
Students may participate in the annual LE100 safe lot clearance program with
MCVFD at Ponderosa Basin Subdivision.
Students may participate in field trips to outside fire agencies becoming familiar
with their stations, apparatus, and equipment.
Students will understand and participate in the oral interview process for the fire
service. Second ear students will be required to take on leadership roles.

Summative Assessments
Semester I
Students, who chose to, will take an oral interview. Most of the fundamentals
of fire technology will be taught this semester: Safety, PPE, SCBA, Ladders,
Fire Hose, Radio Communications
Semester II
Students will complete Hazardous Materials FRO, Wildland S-190, Confined
Space Awareness Training, Search & Rescue, MTU Drills, Attend All
Fieldtrips.
