Sarvoday Seva charitable Trust

Vision :
With a vision of society upliftment Sarvoday seva charitable Trust has
been started in January 1998 under Mumbai society act 1950.
Methodology:
To fulfill the goal trust decided to do activities in two major areas
1. Social development
2. Economic development.
How :
With clear vision & path trust started over all development of much
depleted people of the society in form of strengthening women of
poor community by creating self help groups (SHGs) and train them to earn
livelihood, empower youth by training & placement, capacity building of rural
youth by vocational / professional trainings to grow up to self earning level in
different skills, implemented several Govt. schemes of rural development
SHG formation, skill & capacity building, women empowerment, training &
placement, environmental awareness programmes.
Recent:
As a wide spread of vision trust stared to provide counseling in the area of
domestic violence and environmental awareness too. As a recent development
trust is running two schools with aim to provide quality primary education to
poor community children.
Area of operations:
SSCT is working in Gujarat state with spreaded presence in 5 district of the
state.

Details about activities:

Women SHG formation, training & bank linkages :

Sarvoday Seva Charitable Trust (SSCT) is working as lead NGO in Jasdan

taluka to implement Sakhi Mandal- scheme from Govt. of Gujarat from 2010.
Current status:
formation of 1432 women SHG group (14500 women)
Training provided to 1390 SHGs
Bank linkages done for 1354 SHGs
Additional support:
Under NABARD / SGSY schemed participated in 20 different trade fairs with 7
women SHGs.
Vocational Training:
With support of developmental agencies like NABARD, KVIC, Rural
development department, Govt. of Gujarat etc.. trust provided training to SHGs
with below modules. SSCT having own training facility at Vicchiya village,
Jasdan , Gujarat with 3500 sq-ft available space and training kit.
- Computer training
- English spoken classes
- Entrepreneurship development
- Vermi compost
- Sewing & embroidery art work
- Beautician course
- Toran-zula training
- Soldring and dsoldring
- Jute article maiking
- Making of hair pin, swinger, wick, Chundadi (Gujarati traditional
wearing) etc..
Widow training wing:
- Trained 346 widows for their livelihood sustainability
- Provided training in sewing, embroidery
- Availed free sewing machine for all widow trainees from Govt. Gujarat

Focused activity upliftment of SC / ST / BPL community

- Formed 120 women SHGs of SC community (1580 women)
- Training to make chundadi & wick (Divet) under KVIC project
- Held 3 awareness programmes to disseminate govt. schemes & benefits
for SC / ST community.

- 245 benefited due to trust efforts by availed govt. schemes like Manav
Garima, Indira Awas, Sardar Awas, Widow pention, DIC loan case etc..
- Solved 12 cases of SC women at domestic violence counseling center.

Gram Udhyog Kendra :

- Gram Udhyog Kendra is a common facility center of production and
marketing for SHG members.
- GUK providing employment to more than 300 women
- Main production items are Divet (wick), Toran Julla, Chundadi
- Created marketing linkages for all items

Information and Guidance center:

SSCT running this center to help poor community by providing informations in
many different areas like

- Information & awareness to poor community about available govt.

benefits & scheme
- Form availability & filling to avail benefits from agencies and Govt.
- Banking system
- Creation of bank linkages
- Providing platform to other NGOs to help SC/ST/BPL community with
their on hand projects
- Encouraging / support to SHGs for trade fair participation to increase
their sales
Counseling center for domestic violence:
As an ethical social responsibility and part of vision to empower women, trust is
running a counseling center for domestic violence issue. In this center we got
succeed to solve more than 50 such cases and 5 are in waiting of justice.

Environmental Awareness
Dedicated staff of SSCT is holding seminars and village level meetings for
environmental awareness on regular basis. Under Total Sanitation programme
installed more than 500 toilets in different villages by the SSCT.
