Course Description

Course Outline

Rig Inspection Workshop should present the correct inspection and maintenance procedures needed to ensure
the integrity of equipment on land drilling rigs. Candidates
should learn how to implement the correct standards and
to understand the requirements of the industry, so that the
condition of equipment can be verified and safety behavior and cultures improved, thus reducing the number of
accidents and protecting the environment/assets.

Course Objectives
The candidate will be able to:
n Independently carry out a basic (visual) rig inspection.
n Describe the main inspection criteria for major equipment.
n Identify the major items that have an impact on the
safety and operation of a rig.
n Recognize the indicators for the overall condition of a
drilling rig and camp.
n List the relevant standards and their implications on
drilling equipment.
n Explain and evaluate the contents of a certificate.
n Understand the basics of equipment installed in hazardous areas.
n Evaluate basic maintenance and inspection procedures
on the rig to identify compliance with good working
practices and industry standards.

n Courses will be conducted during the designated
dates at a 4 star or 5 star hotel in the designated city.
n Payments to be made in advance. Exact venue of the
training will be notified two weeks prior to course start

He has more than 18 years of experience in Oil Field exploration and development Drilling. He worked as a drilling and operations manager for more than five years.
In addition, he is a drilling supervisor for offshore wells
in Gulf of Suez, Western desert (Egypt) and Arabian Gulf
Structures, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Eng. Samir is a senior Drilling Engineer qualification, planning, reporting, follow up
the drilling operation.
He has drilling contract Engineering qualification (Drilling
services Tendering procurement and contracts and drilling equipment qualification, planning, procurement follow
up new projects. He is also, working in Drilling Equipment
manufacturer auditing qualification for new manufacturer,
new technology and innovation products.
Eng. Samir has IWCF, (2009-2011) International well control certificate , Egypt.
