Incumbent serves as JAG Transition and Quality Assurance Coordinator, working with school personnel,
community service providers, and employers to set up mentorship, work experience, internship, and job
placement opportunities for high school students and arranging guest speakers, field trips, college visits, and
college preparation activities to assist students in transitioning from high school to post-secondary training
and/or employment. Reviews data entered into the management information systems (eNDMS and TrackOne)
and implements administrative and reporting requirements of the JAG and WIA programs.
Duties:
Identifies resources in the community for volunteer work, mentorship, work experience, internship and
employment.
Works with school personnel and WorkOne staff to coordinate employer contacts and resources.
Establishes ongoing partnerships with local businesses, civic groups and community organizations to strengthen
student learning and community engagement within JAG schools.
Works with JAG students to find employment and internship opportunities beyond high school, acts as a
resource for out-of-school JAG alum during the year of follow-up (tracked) and beyond.
Develops and maintains mentor, employment or internship assessments and evaluations, and maintains
communication with mentor organizations, employers and community organizations.
Works with staff to include parents in employment or internship process and participates in school-wide special
events and family nights (example: Open Houses).
Assists in the development of community events that includes JAG student participation to educate the
community regarding the JAG Program.
Coordinates guest speakers and field trips for the JAG classes to promote different career/educational
opportunities for students, and assists the JAG staff in arranging volunteer opportunities for students.
Assists in development of interest areas and skills through one-on-one coaching and mini workshops to enhance
life/real world skills and delivery of workshops to students.

Identifies all data needs and develops a system for data collection and gathers/maintains all relevant data, such
as informational interviews, shadow days, employment or internships and completed projects.
Presents college preparatory activities to create an awareness and appreciation for college in the JAG classroom.
Provides college preparation and transition support to JAG students which includes assistance with college
search, applications, college admissions testing, and scholarship and financial aid.
Develops a schedule of monthly events for JAG students including workshops with college admissions staff as
guest speakers, applying for financial aid (FAFSA) and scholarships, completing college applications, essay
writing and scheduling college tours.
Transports students as needed, and attends team and school meetings.
Provides onsite technical assistance to JAG staff for in-school JAG classrooms and out-of-school JAG alum
during their year of follow-up and beyond.
Assists in the determination of youth eligibility, reviews and verifies applicant eligibility for program
enrollment and advises staff of additional information required for program eligibility and/or state data
validation.
Develops and maintains department procedures and quality assurance measures.
Maintains databases (eNDMS and TrackOne) and other evaluation tools to track and assess JAG Specialists and
JAG Program.
Monitors data entry trends and works with Supervisor to develop and implement new hire training and followup training to both individuals and group of employees.
Assists with onsite and desktop monitoring activities of files and records to assure participant records contain all
required data, reviews for accuracy and coordinates corrections of records with the staff.
Partners with MIS and fiscal departments to identify error trends and works with Supervisor to develop
refresher training and correction process.
Generates monthly data reports to Supervisor and JAG Specialists reporting specific findings; prepares monthly
coordinator reports and end-of-year activity reports.
Performs related duties as assigned.
I.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in education, social services, sales/marketing or a related discipline is


preferred. Equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered.
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Working knowledge of Standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to organize and present
information orally and in writing in a clear, concise manner with co-workers, employers, other government and
community service agencies, training facilities and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics,
gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.
Working knowledge of basic computer applications and an Internet browser.
Possession of a valid drivers license and automobile insurance and demonstrated safe driving record.
Previous experience working with high school students highly desirable and knowledge of regional community;
previous marketing and/or sales experience is a plus.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, students and their parents.
Good math aptitude.

DIFFICULTY OF WORK

Incumbents duties are broad is scope, involving many variables and considerations and requiring judgment in
conducting holistic assessment of applicants needs and, identifying and ensuring provision of appropriate
services. Incumbent applies state and federal regulations and agency policies and procedures to individual
cases.
III.

RESPONSIBILITY

Incumbent works independently while managing multiple priorities and establishes appropriate boundaries
while developing and nurturing supportive relationships with students. Incumbent receives general work
instructions and guidance from supervisor, discussing unusual situations with supervisor as needed.
Incumbents work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and compliance with agency policies and procedures.
IV.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS

Incumbent maintains frequent communication with co-workers, service agencies, training facilities, employers
and the public for the purposes of exchanging information, interpreting and explaining policies and procedures,
promoting and delivering the JAG Model and counseling clients.
Incumbent reports directly to the Director of Operations and receives guidance from the Regional Program
Manager.
V.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Incumbent performs the majority of duties in a standard office environment with no unusual physical demands.
Some duties are performed outside of the office, involving driving a vehicle or other forms of transportation to
reach appropriate destination.
