SECTION 1: Collaboration
The collaboration service provides a set of functions for sharing corporate information:
email, contacts, calendars, files and Internet bookmarks. The shared data can be organized
at different levels: users, groups and company. The collaboration services can be accessed
via interfaces adapted to the different business situations.

Virtual Desktop
The Virtual Desktop is the main user interface

through which it is possible to access all services

provides on the Extended Communication Server.
The full web based interface is very easy to use
and can be accessed from anywhere at anytime on
different devices such desktop PC, Laptop, PDA
smart phones and all other devices connected to
the Web using any web browser.
The Virtual Desktop is available for all users of the
directory and comes in addition to usual tools
(Windows usage to access shared directories,
Outlook)..

Web-mail
The Web-mail enables to access your
emails from any internet device that is
connected to the Web using any web browser.
All email functionalities are available. You can
do all what you need on your email interface
without any heavy software and even specific
device, thanks to the Web-bases interface. Only
internet access is needed to use it or deploy
new users accounts.

Calendar
The shared calendar allows to create events (meeting,
appointments..) and share them with your colleagues and
collaborators or delegate to your assistant. You can
access your calendar add, remove any event anytime
from anywhere thanks to the Web-bases interface.
Event creation:
Using your Calendar you can create private or public
appointments and invite other contacts who will be notified by
email and even in their own calendar. They have the
possibility to accept or reject the invitation.

Visibility:
You can share your calendar with other users who can see your availabilities. You can also organize
views, and colors in order to customize your calendar.

Layers:
It is possible to use the Layers which are useful for displaying other users events in your own
calendar (Different colors for all users)

Outlook synchronization:
Using Outlook Connector you can synchronize your calendar with your Outlook calendar. You can
keep up-to-date information whether you use Outlook or Virtual Desktop Calendar.

Contacts
Different contact lists are available on your
Virtual Desktop (Personal contacts list,
group contact list and company contact list)
The company directory is also available on
the contact interface.
The web based interface is very useful when
you are mobile and need to keep in touch
which your contacts.

Outlook synchronization:
Using Outlook Connector you can synchronize your contacts lists with your Outlook
contacts lists. This solution allows to access your contact lists in connected or
disconnected mode to maintain your data up-to-date.

You can select one or several contacts
from your contact lists and send them an

If a contact has his telephone number
available, you can click on it and initiate
the call by using the Click to call
window. The call is then done through the
OmniPCX Office Communication Server.

Bookmarks
This service allows to bookmark your favorite
sites and be able to access them from
anywhere as the information is stored on the
server and not on the PC. Your bookmarks
are organized by category and you have the
possibility to create personal bookmarks,
group bookmarks.

News
This module enables people from the
company to get access to information that
is provided through their Virtual Desktop.
This information is published by the news
administrator. This information can be
provided only for a group or for the whole
company.

File sharing
The file sharing service allows to exchange
files through the Virtual Desktop. By
uploading and downloading files. This is a
very powerful collaboration tool that can
be deployed on any browser connected to
internet.

about the disk space used

Telephony
The telephony options allows to access and manage
remotely your office phone set :
- Calls forwarding
- Nomadic mode configuration
- Unified messaging (Voice-mail notification).

Alcatel-Lucent Outlook Connector

Your solution for collaboration with Microsoft
Outlook Alcatel-Lucent Outlook Connector is an add-on
module for Microsoft Outlook that lets you use Microsoft
Outlook to easily access and share the contacts and
calendars stored on the Alcatel-Lucent Extended
Communication Server. When Alcatel Outlook Connector is
installed, a new toolbar lets you select and manage the
contacts and calendar folders on the Alcatel-Lucent
Extended Communication Server directly from Microsoft
Outlook.
As well as providing access to your email, you can easily
share calendars and address books and also schedule
meetings.
The synchronization function lets you use Microsoft
Outlook when you are away from your desk you just need
to re-synchronize your work with the Alcatel-Lucent
Extended Communication Server once you are back at your
desk.
This makes Alcatel-Lucent Outlook Connector the ideal complementary solution to the Extended
Communication Server web Virtual Desktop for users who prefer to use the Microsoft Outlook
client or when an Internet connection with the Extended Communication Server is not available.

SECTION 2: Unified Communication

Introduction
The Unified Communication service is a unique voice/data convergence solution for SMEs based on
the transparent integration of the Alcatel-Lucent Extended Communication Server and AlcatelLucent OmniPCX Office Communication Server.
On one hand, the Unified Communication service provides integration of the communication
services for Extended Office users such as unified messaging with voice mail email, one click
calling from Extended Communication Server contacts, remote management of the OmniPCX
Office telephone or mobile mode options from the Virtual Desktop or Mobile Virtual Desktop.
Furthermore, by integrating the Alcatel-Lucent PIMphony for OmniPCX Office software in native
mode and facilitating its deployment over the corporate LAN, the Unified Communication service
offers all the benefits of computer and telephone interaction to improve and increase corporate
performance.

Services available with the Unified Communication

The Unified Communication service allows the Extended Communication Server to detect and
dialogue automatically and transparently with the OmniPCX Office present on the same LAN.
By associating an internal extension number on the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office with a user on
the Extended Communication Server, the user can also access additional services in the Virtual
Office:
Unified messaging with notification of incoming voice mails and possible transfer of the
message to the e-mail application as a .wav attachment.
Transfer of calls to voice mail, another extension number or a personal assistant.
Changing the extensions password.
Configuration in mobile mode, meaning that the office extension number can be replaced
with an external or mobile number.
Mobile users are able to make calls using the OmniPCX Office Communication Server from
outside the enterprise and can also answer calls from the mobile device.
The Click-to-call function can be used to make or close calls from the Virtual Office.

Mobile Virtual Desktop
The Mobile Virtual Desktop offers the complete Office
environment on the mobile devices (Smart phones, PDA ..). This
module enables mobile workers to keep in touch with their office
and their daily working environment. No need of specific software
to deploy the solution as it is web based through a secured access
connection (SSL 128 bits ).

Emails
The Web-mail provided on the mobile devices is very efficient and useful when you are on
mobility. It allows to keep in touch with your business and access to your emails anytime and

Calendar
Access to your shared calendar everywhere. You can modify or delete event, configure the display

Contacts
Keep your contact lists always available and up-to-date on your mobile. You can create new
contacts (Personal, company, group) and delete or modify existing contacts. When clicking on a
particular contact you can send him email (click to mail) or give him a call (click to call). Scheme

The Mobile Virtual Desktop is a very powerful tool for all your collaboration needs
but it also provides the capability to configure your office device options remotely. Scheme

SECTION 4: IT services
Introduction
The Extended Communication Server includes all IT components required to deploy
an SMB enterprise network and setup a secured and reliable working environment providing
shared resources in order to increase productivity. IT services are included on each platform
and provide system base, easy remote management, backup, update and allows easy
management of the companys network (LAN, WAN, DHCP server, VPN,). It also includes
shared and secured Internet access with firewall, authenticated proxy and Web hosting.

Mail server
The Extended Communication Server includes a powerful mail server which meets to
SMB/SME email communication needs. Main messaging protocols are supported : SMTP,
POP3 and IMAP4. It is possible to manage mail size and quotas per user management and
use aliases and distribution lists. A statistic module is also available to monitor messaging
activity through useful statistic reports and analyses.
To increase security for inbound and outbound messaging Extended Communication Server
provided also solutions for mail content filtering :
Clam Antivirus : Checks mails, attached files and files in user directories to stop
viruses
SpamAssassin Anti spam : Checks e-mails for spam detection with customized
rules
Grey lists management (anti spam)

Backup
In order to increase data security and integrity, the Extended Communication Server includes a
solution of data backup and restore.

Two backup modes are available:

1. Total Back-up: Whole system hard-disk content is copied, encrypted and archived (ghosting)
2. Differential Back-up:
Delta Back-up between current status (n) and last Back-up operation (n-1) :
First initial Total Back-up is required before going on with differential Back-up(s)

Auto update
The Extended Communication Server includes a powerful auto-update mechanism which
allows your Extended Communication Server to be always up-to-date by connecting on the central
support server to get the last correction patches or new features. To be able to apply this service
your Extended Communication Server has to be registered and know from the support information
system.
Some of the updates are automatic, some others are manual, you can configure your system to
choose which update mode you want.

Hosting and Database Pack

To offer the enterprise a genuine showcase for the internet and increased visibility at
reduced costs. To keep the data on your Web Sites quickly and easily up to date. The Web service
allows you to create a disk space organization to host your own web site and make it reachable
with URL you choose. You have to create your own web pages with an other software. You can
create intranet, extranet, internet host dynamic web sites with PHP pages and a database
associated.

and easy to use administration interface to manage all your Extended Communication Server
services. The Admin interface is available by connecting a keyboard & Console directly to the
box (Mozilla) or over the local Network and over the Internet using a standard Web Browser (IE,
Mozilla..). In order to help you when using the Admin interface an online help is available that
you can reach anytime.
