Abstract
Dubsmash is a video messaging app for android and apple phones that lets users and
soundtracks to videos recorded on their phones that was created by Jonas Druppel,
Roland Grenke and Daniel Taschik. If you noticed, almost every day for sure there will
be at least one dubsmash clips that will be shared by people to be watched. This kind of
addiction is sure to invite unhealthy impact to its users and unknowingly, it would
interfere with the normal activities of their daily. Thus, people are advised to use existing
entertainment medium carefully and avoid being a victim of addiction. In support of this,
we expected to find that the dubsmasher today are majority addicted to the application we
have conducted a research techniques in this assignment which is survey. For survey
technique, we distribute online questionnaires to 15-20 students and some youths and get
the feedback. There are various responses in positive and negative aspect.

2. Introduction

Dubsmash is a lip-synching app that allows smartphone users to recreate movie scenes
and create dubbed music videos has been downloaded more than ten million times. So,
what are the factors that bring to this high-rating? This research was did to know better
about what kind of factors that influence people nowadays to watch or send dubsmash.
Based on some reaserch,we found that dubsmash has its own positive and negative side.
Most people do dubsmash just for fun. Some of them doing it to entertain themselves and
reduce stress. For instance, some funny dubsmash can make other people laugh and share
something that bring happiness. But, there are also people that was addicted to this
application and they do not know that this kind of addiction is sure to invite unhealthy
impact to its users and unknowingly, it would interfere with the normal activities of their
daily. For example, people not realized that they are wasting their time just to create and
share video with their friends even its only take several seconds to create or watch it. But,
when they watch many videos of dubsmash, of course they will take a long time and
indirectly they just let the time pass by doing unbenefit things. Our research objective are
to make sure people are not addicted to this application until resulting them to waste
time.This problem should be taken in seriously because the majority of dubsmasher are
among the teenagers and youths. This teenagers and youths are

Methadology
We have conducted a research technique in this assignment which is survey. For survey
technique, we distribute online questionnaires to 15-20 students and we got a very good
feedback from the repondents.In a very short days, we have got 59 responses from a
different people that answered the questions. The questionnaires are devided into four
sections. Section A is demographic.Section B have to answer either yes or no. Section C
is about the general viral video and the last for section D is about the latest viral video
(dubsmash).Every respondents have gave different point of view

Discussion

This questionnaires are answered by 48 females and 11 males.

The respondents age is 41.4% with age 16-19 years old, 44.8% with
age 20-23 years old, 8.6% with age 24-27 years old

89.8% think that video thumbnails /images influence them to watch


the video while 8.5% said it is not influence them to watch video.

32 respondents said that helping others is the factor into the decision to send /
show a viral video advertisement to others

67.3% from the respondents think that amusing / entertaining is the


others factor into the decision to send / show a viral video
advertisement to others

21 respondents thought of how posting a viral video advertisement will


affect your reputation factor into your decision to send / show a viral
video advertisement to others

32 from 59 respondents said that the idea of receiving videos from


others in return factor into the decision to send / show a viral video
advertisement to others

The respondents also gave their own choice for what attention span did they give to
online videos

From the 59 respondents, majority chose youtube is the website that they use the most
when watching viral online video

The repondents gave their own point of view on what they are dislike
when viewing online videos

This is the following options that the respondents said is the primary
reason to send / show a viral video advertisement to others

From the following characteristics of a viral video advertisement,


every respondents gave different choice in which is the most relevant
to the decision to send / show the video to other people

In their own words, they said that how is the satisfaction they received
comparably different when they send a viral video advertisement to others
as opposed to recommending the video to them in person or showing them
the video directly.

Section D: Latest Viral Video (Dubsmash)

87.7 % from the respondents chose smart phone to view online videos (dubsmash) while the
others chose either ipad and personal computer.

89.9 % respondents said they watch videos online (dubsmash) anytime.


1.8% watch after 12pm and 8.9% intheevening or night.

In ytheir own words, the repondents have gave their point of view of the
satisfaction they received from sending / showing a viral video
(dubsmash) advertisement to others affected by the length of the video
or not.

All of the respondents have briefly described what they believed they are gained from showing /
sending viral video (dubsmash) advertisements to others.

The 59 respondents gave different choices on what characteristics of viral video (dubsmash)
advertisements provide you with the greatest amount of satisfaction in sending / showing it to
others.

Conclusion
In a conclusion, we found that it is true that the latest online video (dubsmash) is very
famous around the people around 16 until 27 years old. We also can conclude that all of the
respondents are watching dubsmash or online video even some of them only take a while to
watch it per day. Other than that, they are some major similarity between the repondents
which is they prefer watching the viral video or dubsmash using smart phone maybe it is
because smart phone is more convenient, easy to bring anywhere and can easily watch the
online video anywhere. The other similarity of the repondents is we found that many of the
respondents have chosen you tube to watch the online video.
Hence, we think that dubsmash has it positive and negative side effect. Based on our
research, dubsmsh can reduce stress. A psychiatric consultant, professor Dr Muhammad
Muhsin Ahmad Zahari state that the application enabled smartphone users to lip-synch over
their favorite songs, speeches or film quotes and then share the results online. Hence, this
can make them happy and reduce stress. Besides that, it can create strong social chain among
the dubsmasher and their fans. When the dubsmasher uploaded their video on the social
media, they will get many followers and fans and this helps them to get many friends.
Furthermore, the dubsmash fans also have an active mind. This is because they are
constantly thinking on the way to produce better and creative videos.
