MONTH:
The KiSWAHILI word for
READ is KUSOMA. In 1981
Nkiruka Yakini, Osei Nxele,
Malik Yakini, Helen Ray and
David Rambeau founded the
Black Reading Month
Committee. Please urge your
student to turn of the TV,
computer and cell phone and
participate by reading at least one
book by a Black author. "Black
Reading is Crucial for Black
Survival!" Share your favorite
Black Author with your student.
