Republic Democratic of Timor-Leste was
colonized by Portugal in the 16th
Century and was known as a
Portuguese Timor until Portugal
decolonization of the Country is one of
the youngest countries in the world and
occupies the eastern part of the island
of Timor in Southeast Asia, with the
14,874 square kilometers of territory of
Timor-Leste
In May 2002 Timor-Leste became the
first new sovereign state of the 21st
century
Timor-Leste is one of only two
predominantly Roman Catholic
countries in Asia. The other being the
Philippines .
Population is about 1,143,667.
Habitants.
