SEASIDE PARK - The day after a pipe-bombstyle device exploded in a garbage can in Seaside
Park, Gov. Chris Christie called the blast an act of
terrorism.
Yet, there was no evidence that it was connected
to an explosion in Manhattan or a stabbing rampage
in a Minnesota mall, he said.
We have some promising leads but no suspects
at this time, so were continuing to work with authorities to make sure that we bring whoevers responsible for this to justice as quickly as possible,

he said in an interview with CNN.

Fox News reported that police believe the devices used in New York and Seaside Park were
made by the same person, although authorities
have not said so publicly.
FBI agents and partnering agencies continued
the investigation in Seaside Park Sunday morning,
hunting for who was behind the pipe-bomb-style
device. The explosion happened at 9:35 a.m. Saturday at the corner of D Street and Ocean Avenue just
minutes before the Seaside Park Semper Five Marine Corps charity race began. No one was injured,

LITTLE EGG HARBOR - Two women and a baby

died Saturday, and another child and adult were critically injured, as a result of a head-on crash on Route
539 in Little Egg Harbor, Ocean County authorities
said.
Shannon Tomkins, 27, of Tuckerton and her 6month-old daughter were killed after Tomkins Mercury Cougar and a Honda CRV collided head-on at 8:53
p.m. just west of North Shore Drive, said Al Della
Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutors
Office.
The driver of the Honda Nora Magnani, 67, of
Langhorne, Pennsylvania died at the scene of the
crash, Della Fave said in a text message to a reporter.
According to Della Fave, Tomkins was traveling
with her two children when her eastbound Mercury
failed to maintain its lane and crossed over the center
line into the westbound lane. There, it collided with
the CRV, he said.
Tomkins died at the scene, and her 6-month-old
daughter was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Stafford, where she later died, he said.
The Tuckerton womans 5-year-old son, who was
also in the car, was taken to a nearby hospital, where
he is listed in critical but stable condition, Della Fave
said.
Magnanis passenger Andrea Pallanollo, 65, of
Langhorne was hospitalized and listed in critical
but stable condition, he said.

the scandal, known as Bridgegate, that in
turn gridlocked Chris Christies presidential ambitions. Now its time for the
answers, maybe even a lesson or two.
Thats the hope, anyway.
Today, prosecutors and defense attorneys are scheduled to present opening arguments in the trial of two of
Christies longtime Republican political loyalists, William Baroni and Bridget Anne Kelly, who face nine
counts of conspiracy and fraud in causing massive traffic jams in Fort Lee over portions of five mornings in
