1.1 INTRODUCTION TO THE INDUSTRY
Kadhi is a beloved child of our Father of our nation which was found and nourished
during 1920 as part of operation of freedom .It was started in Tamilnadu during 1923 and was
managed by Tamilnadu congress committee under the chairmanship of E.V.Ramaswamy.
During 1925, the Akil Bharat charka Sangh was formed, which took over the kadhi
activities from the congress committee .After independence, the Akil Bharat charka Sangh
merged with the Akil Bharat Sarvo Seva Sangh. The Akil Bharat Sarvo seva sangh had
accepted decentralization as a policy and major plan of extension for the other activities.
As the part of this policy the Khadi and village industries commission activities in
Tamilnadu were brought under a newly created institution called Tamilnadu Sarvodaya Sangh
during 1958.
As a part of the decentralization of Tamilnadu Sarvodaya Sangh, Padiyur Sarvodaya
Sangh was born in the year 1961 with an area of operation consisting of 8 revenue villages
and a population of 24000.The Khadi activities we started at Padiyur during 1940 under all
India Spinners Association.
The Sangh has also established a small workshop, non-edible oil, soap unit, village
leather unit, and neam oil production unit agar kathi and butter units. These village industrial
are situated in every braches of these sangh for better performance.
The sangh was split into district 2003, in padiyur was a biggest company in Tamilnadu and
they have 21 branches now they working onwards and they create a new profile in SILK. And
it go to make a next level. Sarvodaya sangh now having 200 workers and 21 Employees in
the company daily 150000 turnover per day and 4050000per month in the khadi village
industry.

OBJECTIVES
The sarvodaya movement has as its target the establishment of a whole network
of such self-supporting village communities. Agriculture will be so planned that
all the people will have enough to consume.
Industry will be conducted on a cottage bases till all the people in the village are
gainfully employed. The needs of the village will be determined by the people of
the village themselves through village counsel, representative of the whole
village.
There will be no party system and majority rule and society will be free from the
evil of the tyranny of the majority.
The sarvodaya society is socialist in the true sense of the term. All calling will be
the same moral, social and economic values. The individual personality has the
fullest scope for development.
The sarvodaya society is based on equality and liberty .there is no room in it for
unwholesome some competition, exploitation and class hatred.
Sarvodaya stands for the progress of the all. All individual should do individual
labour and follow the ideal of non -possession. Then it will be possible to realise
the goal of each according to his work and to each according to his needs.

In the company we buy the cocoon from required market in Coimbatore. The
certificate of the government only the cocoon was held in the market the government
has to provide the certificate that the cocoon was healthy one.
After that only we buy the cocoon. In that market there are various dealers in the
market. It was a government company so that the government provide the required
place for required company to buy the product

Company purchase the cotton from the Coimbatore industry. It was also a government
company they buy the cotton bundles in the industry.

PRODUCTION OF SILK:
In production of silk was made by the cocoon. We buy the cocoon from action
market and keep for 15 days. After the 15 days old cocoon was matured.
After that the cocoon was take and boiled for 10-15 minutes in high degree
parenheat .the thread was reified from the cocoon it will read.
After that they do the FINDING process to make the small 90 meter thread into
Longer one.
The next step was THREE PILLERS the long thread was taken and make a
strong as little bit
The fifth step was TWIST the same thread was taken and it could be twisted OT
make a strong one.

Next step was WARPING in this the thread get shine and make it as a perfect
silk.
And the last step was joining process to make the silk as6.2 km.

PRODUCTION OF JERI:
Mumbai there only place of make the KAGE .it was a thread made buy the
SILVER.
a. And buy the KAGE from Maharashtra and do the plotting work to make a
threading
b. The first step was to make the silver as 35 size banin.
c. The silver was mixed with red silk thread .after that they give gold coting to
make Jeri.

PRODUCTION OF COTTON:
They buy the cotton from different industries and make a weave by using rolling
machines
And the second step was to take the rolling machine into handlooms machine.
The village level ladies stich the clothes by using their hands.

The quality of the product Jeri is based on the thickness of the silk thread.
Then the components of the gold are 24 karat and pure silver mingled it.
And the secretary of the padiyur sarvodaya sangh THURAIRAJ maintains the
department.
The quality of the product will be checked by the various instruments of lens.
The machine use the weight of the silk and the darkness of the silk thread
each.
He could check and approve the Jeri become a 24 carat gold mingled with
silver.
Then only the silk and Jeri will approved and give to the various companies.

CONCLUSION
The training is very useful and the functions of the various departments are being clearly
understood for me and the field base training leads me a real working environment. I can able
to gain more knowledge about manufacturing of silk and cotton. The experience is totally a
new learning for me. I think the opportunity given to me interact with the manager and to
develop an understanding about the store function. Training was very useful to gain practical
knowledge towards the retail store.
