Each table has a croupier, a dealer and at least three cameras to
solve any conflicts that may arise.

The casino doesnt want to risk it

Challenge
More than 1,500 people pass through this casino every day. Situated in a small
palace declared a national heritage site, the building covers 4,500 square meters
distributed in 3 storeys, all dedicated to gambling.
Security is a primary objective in the casino, as the buildings historical features are
highlighted and must be protected, and customer care is paramount. The casino has
chosen the SCATI platform because of its renowned reliability and adaptability to
solve the specific needs of the casino.
SCATI faces the challenge of implementing a complete video surveillance system in
a heavily regulated sector that requires high-quality and high frame-rate video that
can capture images of the fastest sleights of hand, while satisfying the applicable
regulations.
In addition to detecting fraud, the casino needed a streamlined solution to possible
gambling disputes. Each table has a dealer, a head of the table and at least three
cameras to solve any conflicts that may arise by showing recently recorded video in
the event of customer claims.

Solution
SCATI has supplied a system that is completely based on IP technology, thus
ensuring the required high-quality video. All the cameras installed have a 25 images
per second capacity at maximum resolution so the capture of each and every detail
is guaranteed.
Each playing table is covered by 3 SCATI EYE Minidome cameras equipped with
Wide Dynamic Range and infrared illumination, with a resolution of between 1.3 and
5 megapixels. This guarantees the high level of detail required to recognise
individuals and capture fast movements under any lighting conditions. These cameras
include a vandal-proof shell and a tinted bubble to obscure their orientation.
SCATI EYE cameras with the most advanced technology have been placed to monitor
critical areas, such as the counting room, cash registers, data centre, etc. These
cameras are capable of providing maximum image sharpness in a wide variety of
lighting conditions.

Case study
Accesses and transit areas are covered by the most appropriate SCATI EYE
Minidome, Bullet and PTZ Dome cameras. These ensure complete protection of the
building, do not interfere with the building's architectural harmony and afford maximum
discretion.
The captured video is stored on 8 state-of-the-art SCATI VISION recorders, each
of which can support maximum resolution recording and transmission at 25 fps
(frames per second) from 32 cameras. These recorders are equipped with RAID 6
storage redundancy, plus redundant power supplies and network cards. These
features, along with the self-diagnosis capabilities of SCATI VISION software,
guarantee uninterrupted operation and provide the high reliability required by the
casino.
The video can be monitored in real time via 5 SCATI WATCHER workstations that
can be used for remote management of recorders and cameras. The numerous
possibilities provided by the application will allow the security department to analyse
the operations that take place in the casino and perform forensic searches to quickly
detect any incident affecting the devices.
SCATI has developed specific functionalities in SCATI WATCHER for the Casino at
the client's request, such as shortcut key configuration for quick access to display
matrices, plus immediate access to Recently Recorded Video via a context menu in
the real-time video display.
Users can implement digital zoom from this screen to display the details of any part
of the recording and play or rewind frame-by-frame using speed controls in step-bystep mode. The screen can be used for instant viewing of any past event.
The purpose is to show customers recently recorded video whenever they feel
aggrieved. This is made possible by the remote desktop connection to SCATI
WATCHER from a totem installed in the gambling room. This innovative solution is a
fast and simple way to solve disputes, affording maximum gaming transparency.
