CAREER OBJECTIVE.
I wish to obtain a position in a school where I am offered the opportunity to demonstrate my
abilities in planning and implementing quality lessons, to become a valued member of staff, and to
build strong educational relationships with students and the wider school community.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES.
Communication skills
I am able to listen to what others have to say, and, by showing concern with my responses, I am
able to gain mutual understanding and respect through patience, understanding, apathy,
consideration and negotiation.
My effectiveness as a teacher comes with my ability to model, instruct and allow for individual
completion of tasks.
I am confident in voicing my ideas and thoughts and I am able to partake effectively in meaningful
discussions.
Organisational abilities
I have strong organisational and time management skills. In balancing competing demands, I
prioritise the necessary jobs to achieve the best outcomes. I complete tasks to a high professional
standard in the time frame allowed. I am able to plan in-depth lessons and units of work and
compile high-quality resources for students.
Technology
I confidently use technology as an educational tool both in teaching and in record keeping. I am
proficient in using such programs as core office software applications including the Microsoft Office
suite, e-mail, intranet and Photoshop. I keep my technology skills updated in order to improve the
quality of my presentations in education.
I am aware of my responsibilities when using ICT and treat all correspondence as official records.
Working in a team
My experiences in working in a team environment have allowed me the opportunity to develop both
leadership skills and teamwork skills. As a leader I have the ability to delegate duties but still
remain appropriately involved so I can create situations to encourage teamwork. I encourage pride
in workmanship, team cooperation and a high work standard. I understand that in working in large
teams there are multiple responsibilities that require a wider team contribution.
I view the importance of working with colleagues as part of professional development and to
ensure my practice is of the optimal level.
Problem solving

Problem solving in teaching, I feel, encourages greater engagement of students and caters better
for a variety of abilities.
As a teacher I feel the problem solving approach to teaching allows for the development of
teaching strategies and the monitoring of student progress.
Self-motivated
I have shown the ability to work unsupervised. I have been set multiple tasks and been able to
achieve them. I am able to organise my time wisely and ensure all essential tasks are completed
within an adequate time.
Act with Integrity
I always act in an honest and professional manner. I am able to openly communicate with
employers and senior staff members in order to achieve effective working relationships. I consider
the privacy of others and have been able to keep sensitive information confidential. I set myself a
high standard and use that standard to set a foundation for appropriate workplace behaviour. I
believe that I am always accountable for my own actions and take responsibility for any arising
issues.
