PRESENTATION TO THE FARMINGTON CITY COUNCIL FOR THE

PROPOSED FARMINGTON CIVIC CENTER EXPANSION

WORK LEGEND

OVERALL WORK TO BOTH BUILDINGS

Existing corridors will receive new ceiling, lighting, wall paint, carpet
and fire protection. The existing doors and hardware will be replaced,
frames to remain and receive new paint (aluminum storefront doors,
frames and hardware will remain as is, no new work)

Existing meetings rooms A and C-F will receive new ceiling, lighting,
wall paint, carpet and fire protection. They will also receive new HD
video projectors and motorized screens and updated sound system
to match ballrooms, New ADA room signs, new doors and hardware,
frames to remain and receive new paint.

New 5,500 GSF North addition consisting of ballrooms (brings


seating to 620), corridors and storage. The walls, floor, ceilings,
lighting, folding partitions and A/V systems in ballroom portion of
the addition will match 2012 renovation.

The existing admin offices in the exhibit building will be remodeled.


Improvements include: new plastic laminate storage cabinets, new
wall finishes, new floor finishes, new ceilings, lighting and new fire
protection, and new HVAC system. This same work will also be
provided to the box office.

The exterior walls in the exhibit and theater buildings will receive patching
of damaged wall areas as well as a new color scheme.
A new outdoor trellis will be provided on the South side of both buildings
as well as new landscaping for the South lawn areas.
A new voice activated fire alarm system will be provided. The existing
electrical distribution system will be replaced and consolidated. The existing
electrical services which will be replaced/repaired will be brought up to current
electrical codes.
The basement of the theater building will receive new fire protection and
lighting replacement.
The exterior lighting will be replaced and a video surveillance system will
be provided.
An exterior sound system will be provided for the South lawn area as well
as a new digital marquee.
Both the exhibit hall and theater buildings will receive new roofing and
parapet coping.

Kitchen will be remodeled and receive new kitchen equipment.


Improvements include: new wall finishes, new floor finishes, new
ceilings, lighting and new electrical, plumbing and mechanical
upgrades related to new layout and kitchen cooking equipment.
Existing restroom areas to be renovated to fully meet ADA, number
of WC provided will increase. New finishes include: ceramic wall
and floor tile, new ceilings, lighting, improved exhaust and fire
protection. Single occupant ADA restrooms will also be provided.
In the South end of the exhibit building, existing meeting room B
will be used to create a new larger male restroom group and the area
that currently houses both the male and female restrooms will be
used to create larger female restrooms as well as single occupant
ADA restroom and new janitor room.

Existing ballrooms to receive new roofing and HVAC work. The


existing ballrooms will receive ADA compliant Assisted Listening
System (ALS). The A/V control system will be upgraded and the
existing lighting batten for stage lights will be relocated.

be covered with carpet and the existing wood panel walls in the
lobby and gallery will be covered and new porcelain wall tile will be
installed. The existing doors and hardware will be replaced, frames
to remain and receive new paint (aluminum storefront doors, frames
and hardware will remain as is, no new work). The lobby will also
receive a new networked digital signage system. A new elevator or
wheelchair lift will be provided to allow ADA access to gallery and
theater upper seating area.
Theater back of house will be remodeled. Improvements include:
new wall finishes, new floor finishes, new ceilings, lighting and
new fire protection, and new HVAC system. New plastic laminate
counters will be provided at performers dressing area. New ADA
restrooms and showers will be provided for the performers.

Theater front of house will receive new ceilings, lighting and fire
protection.

Existing restroom areas to be renovated to fully meet ADA. New


finishes include: ceramic wall and floor tile, new ceilings, lighting,
improved exhaust and fire protection.

Existing theater will receive new fire protection, new wall paint, new
carpet (will replace existing carpeted areas), new house lighting,
new HVAC work, new roll-up door and pneumatic lift for dock.
Wheelchair and companion seating will be provided along cross
aisle.
Theatrical improvements include: new permanent loudspeaker
system capable of meeting the needs of local and regional acts,
a permanent mixing location within the seating area, dead-hung
stage rigging system with motorized stage electrics and spare sets
(will replace existing manual batten system), new stage drapery,
astragal system for existing pit lift, new house lighting dimming
system and controls, replace worn and damaged distribution strips
and drop boxes for existing lighting (existing performance lighting
to remain, no new work), ADA compliant Assisted Listening System
(ALS), replace 8 microphones operating in prohibited frequency
bands.
