Installing HandyChecker(Ver.

3)to a Laptop Manual

This is the Manual to download the HandyChecker (ver.3) onto a laptop.
Items Needed:
1.Access to CNH/Kobelco Calhoun Snap Server Network
2.Laptop
3.Basic Understanding of Windows XP Operating System
4.Access to proper Versions of Machine Model Software
1.Applicable Excavators to use Checker Software on
Following excavator's software are able to be downloaded with HandyChecker(ver.3):
Acera Mark 8 Series(SK200-8SK210LC-8...)
Dynamic Acera , and all SR series models

2.Download Procedure
Connection with Snap Server
3-1.Connect with Lan via network or ATT Global Dialer
3-2.Locate the following file path via windows explorer
File Path Snap-1\cad\Controller\Calhoun product\Excavator\mark 8\Download Softwar
3-3.Locate the folder named Install .
3-4. Copy the complete Install folder to your harddrive.
3-5. Once folder is copied to your hardrive open Install folder in Windows Explorer.

3-6. Verify there should be now 4 files in this folder on your
harddrive
1. me103900.Application
2. Setup.Application
3. System.Configuration Settings
4. HandyChecker(ver 3)_Download Manual USA.PDF
3-7. Click on the Setup.Application file and launch it

Note: Program will launch and Visual Basic 6.0 screen will appear.

3-8. Click on the Next button on the popup screen

3-9. Click on the Next button on the popup screen to continue install

3-10. Click on the Next button again on the popup screen to continue install

3-10. Click on the Next button again on the popup screen to continue install

3-10. Click on the "YES to ALL " on the popup screen to continue install

3-11. Software will to continue install

3-12. Click on the "Finished " on the popup screen to continue install

3-13.Click on the [me103900 ] file to launch the file.

3-13.Reconfirm that proper version is present in File Name window. Then Click on the
[START] button when you select the software.
Program starts automatically if error code or program does not launch
see Trouble shooting 4-1.

3-13.Handy Checker has successfully been installed.

TROUBLESHOOTING of Download
4.Trouble Shooting
4-1.In Case of failure to launch Handy Checker
1. Find the file MSCOMM32.OCX located in C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder on the laptop.
Note You need to have your laptop view set to "Icon" view before the drag N drop
procedure below.
2. Please drag "MSCOMM32.OCX" on top of file "regsrv32.exe" in the same
folder. Make sure "regsrv32.exe" highlights indicating proper path before
releasing pointer. This will cause the script to be executed.
4-2. Return to the Install folder on the Laptop and Click on the [me103900 ]
file to launch the HandyChecker (ver.3) file.

4-5. If HandyChecker (ver.3) screen above launches HandyChecker (ver.3) is

ready to use.
