What is a pressing problem and possible solution to a human migration

issue in relation to our global community?

I cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create
many ripples. Mother Teresa
Hello my name is Karina and Im going to talk about immigration.
Immigration is a problem that has increased in the last fifty years to be
precise. As the world continue growing in terms of globalization and nations
economies, trades and investments immigration will be doing the same. But first
who is an immigrant? An immigrant is a person or a group of people that leaves
one country to settle permanently in another. Worldwide theres an
approximated of 191 million immigrants. Previous research showed that
approximated 115 million immigrants lives in first world countries. Women
constitute a huge part of the immigrants, around 95 million. But why are so
many people immigrating? Many people are forced to live because of conflicts
or persecutions in their natal country. Other just want to go to look for better
opportunities of work and for having a better life for them and their families. We
have the example of Mexico, between 2003 and 2007 more than 2 million
Mexicans migrate to the United States of America. They went to the US
because the economic situation in their country wasnt good enough. Some of
the Mexican immigrants are illegally staying at the United States but many of
them work as public servers, waiters or as dishwashers, they dont care of the
kind of work they have, they only need to earn money to send back home.
In many cultures immigration is look as an act of courage because
moving to a different country with a different language in some cases, a different
culture and different norms could be found quite daunting. We have talked
about what causes and what is immigration, but what are the effects that
immigration produces? Immigration can be both, positive or negative. The
positive effects are: immigrants must do works that people of the host country
wont do, like those I already mentioned, in the case of Mexicans immigrants.
Also they can contribute to de the diversity of society. The host country
economy must increase. On the other side, immigrants can be exploded
because of their illegal situation, they have lower salaries, many of them might
not have opportunity of having a job or to find one quickly.
But how can we solve the immigration problem? The natal countries
should make a plan to increase the opportunities of work, and by this way they
should make the economy become better in the country. They should must in

education give tools for people to increase their knowledge that make them able
to access to better works, and also, programs that show people the wonderful
country they have and the reasons to work in order to made it grow up.
