Specification

6.1

Material Specification
One very crucial consideration in addition to other qualities in
material selection is the ability to withstand corrosion.
The clamp materials are selected based on API and NACE standards.

The under-listed industry specifications and materials are used for the
production of Egba Split-Sleeve clamps as applicable.

However customers are free to advise us on certain specifications to suit their

companys peculiar requirements.
ANSI Pressure Classes 400, 600 and 900.
Design is based on: ASME Section VIII, API 6H, ANSI B31.4; B31.8
Body Materials: API or ASTM standard A216 WCB; A216 WCC; A352 LCC;
A516 Gr. 70 (suitable for normally corrosive services) and A217 CA15
(compatible with sour services of different partial pressure and PPM of H 2S)
For sour services, the body materials must meet NACE MR0175
Viton Seals of the highest quality is used in the assembly of Egba SplitSleeves. Viton seals are suitable for most, if not all, hydrocarbon fluids as
well as being ideal for high temperatures and sour services.
Double row sealing (DRS) design is only available on request. This special
design is more suitable where any form of leakage is very costly and
hazardous; such as gaseous services and offshore applications.
Sacrificial anodes are installed on the sleeves for long term cathodic
protection.
Stud materials: A193 GrB7 and GrB7M (for highly corrosive surroundings)
Nut materials: A194 Gr2H and Gr2HM (for highly corrosive surroundings)
Offshore split sleeves are equipped with hinges for easy diver installation.
Coating: The society for protective coating (SSPC) standards, specification
and procedures are applied in all coating and painting of Egba clamps.
Split sleeves are tested to 1.5 times the working pressure at the workshop in
accordance with API 6H before release to customers.
