Dear Sir,
This has reference to our above mentioned NIT, Your offer and subsequent discussions. We are pleased
to accept your offer opened on and confirm having awarded on you the work of Annual Contract for Routine &
Breakdown Maintenance of Turbine & Aux. for St-II at Barh STPP. of total value INR 6,800,518.00 (Rupee
SIXTY-EIGHT LAKH FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN ONLY) mentioned in the scope of works, special terms &
conditions, Bill of quantities etc.
The duration of the service period shall be from 06.08.2016 to 05.08.2017. Though the duration of contract
shall remain same, the actual date of commencement of the contract shall be as per the direction of EIC.
DGM(TMD) shall be EIC for this work.
This service purchase order along with its annexure is being issued to you in duplicate .We request you to
return the duplicate copy of this service purchase order, duly signed on each page by your authorised signatory
in token of your unequivocal acknowledgment of the same within 15 days from the date of this service purchase
order. If no communication is received within 15 days of receipt of Purchase Order, it will be treated that order
has been accepted in entirety.

Terms & Conditions

Special Instruction
1. Total Contract Value : Rs. 68,00,518.00 (Rupees Sixty Eight lakh Five hundred Eighteen only).
2. Completion Period : 12 (Twelve) Months and shall be extended in continuous for another twelve months at the
same rates, terms and conditions.
3. Defect Liability period : Three Months from date of execution of work
4. Engineer-In-Charge: DGM (TMD)
5. Payment Terms : Payments shall be releasaed on monthly
running bill basis on the actual quantity of
work executed during the month against submission of bills subject to verification by EIC after completion of
work and after
compliances of all statutory requirements, after deduction
of IT & other statutory
deductions etc.
6. The rates are inclusive of all taxes, duties, levies etc. excluding Service Tax. Service Tax is Extra as
applicable.
7. EMD/SD : S.D. applicable as per GCC for civil Works and shall be recovered from R.A Bill. SD shall be
released on certification of EIC.
8. Rate shall remain firm during the tenure of the contract.
9. Execution to be restricted to BOQ quantity of item sl.no. 10.10, 10.60, 10.90, 10.110, 10.160, 10.180, 10.190,
10.360, 10.370, 10.380, 10.410, 10.420, 10.440, 10.480, 10.490, 10.520, 10.530, 10.550, 10.560, 10.620,
10.650, 10.720, 10.870, 10.880, 10.940, 10.1040, 10.1050, 10.1060, 10.1070 & 10.1120 of PO.
9. All other conditions shall be as per terms of B.I. no. 40053299 and as per GCC for Civil works of NTPC.

canister in horizontal position. Cleaning of canister thoroughly. Removal of bottom bush from position.
13. Measure the total axial travel of the rotating assembly by pushing & pulling the pump shaft.
14. Dismantling of the pump assembly such as casing, impellers, wear rings, shaft, shaft sleeves, rubber
bearings etc.
15. Through cleaning of all parts and measurements of all controlled dimensions & clearances.
16. Examine the internals such as wear rings, shaft sleeves, shaft, impeller & casings, rubber bearings for
wear & damage and renew as necessary. Examine the shaft for damage & check the concentricity. Renew as
necessary.
17. Assembly of pump internals. Replace all interstage joint O-rings.
18. Check the total axial float of the rotating assembly.
19. Make the canister vertical with proper temporary support in a suitable location. Lower the head piece &
pump assembly in to the canister. Mount the bottom bush of Canister into the 1st t stage pump casing. Secure
the head piece with canister along with bolts & nuts. Lower the Head piece along with the canister into the sump
carefully. Connect the pump suction & discharge pipe with pump.
20. Place the motor spool piece on head piece.
21. Checking of stuffing box restriction bush, renew if required & Install the stuffing box.
22. Install new/ repaired mechanical seal onto the pump.
23. Assemble the bearing housing, thrust bearing, thrust collar etc in reverse order with old/ repaired/ new
spares as per requirement.
24. Check cooling coil leakage, make necessary repair and do hydro test and install it back as per
requirement.
25. Box up the bearing covers. Measuring of axial float of pump. Install coupling hubs, spacer.
26. Carry out alignment of CEP with motor as per EIC / OEM Manual.
27. Couple the pump with motor after placement of motor.
28. Take trail run after charging and attend defects if any.
29. Dismantle the removed seal, renew/ lap the sealing surfaces as per requirement.
30. Assemble the mechanical seal by using new `O' rings and gasket and keep it as spare.

Install coupling hubs, spacer & couple pump with motor after placement of motor.
Take trail run after charging and attend defects if any.
Dismantle the removed seal, renew/ lap the sealing surfaces as per requirement.
Assemble the mechanical seal by using new `O' rings and gasket and keep it as spare.

02) Loosen all coupling fasteners & remove the coupling spacer /hub.

06) Install coupling housing top half / coupling guard.

Loosen the necessary fasteners of Strainer lid / flange
Remove the strainer element as per requirement, thoroughly clean it and check for damage in mesh etc.

Box up strainer lid with new gasket and tighten the fasteners, the vent line etc.
Attend for any leakage after charging
19. BFP Booster Pump/Main pump seal water fitters cleaning (2 Nos.):

Remove the filter element as per requirement, thoroughly clean it and check for damage in mesh etc.

Attend for any leakage after charging.
20. Turbine Governing rack / LP Bypass Governing rack all rotating filters/TDBFP Governing rack duplex filters(2
nos) cleaning:

Removal of top cover of rotating filters one by one.
2.
Removal of bottom dummy plug & draining of oil.
3.
Removal of filter element from position, Cleaning of the filter element & filter block with diesel, air, marking
cloth as per requirement up to the satisfaction of EIC.
4.
Box up of filter with new O-ring. charging of the system and attend leakage / defects etc if any
21. TDBFP AOP or EOP or JOP Suction filters cleaning:

Closing of Inlet & out let valve of pump.
2.
Draining of oil from filter and collecting the oil in drum.
3.
Removal of End covers of the filter & removing the filter from location.
4.
Cleaning of the filter element by using compressered air, diesel, marking cloth etc as per requirement up to
the satisfaction of EIC.
5.
Box up of end cover with new gaskets, charging of the system and attend leakage / defects etc if any.
22. TDBFP AOPS overhauling:

Close the suction & discharge valves of the pump and drain the oil from the barrel
2.
Remove the pipe connections as per requirement
3.
De couple the pump from the motor & remove the motor from position
4.
Remove the pump barrel from the position & keep the barrel in vertical position on the stand
5.
Remove the cartridge from the barrel & dismantling the pump internals
6.
Repair / replace damaged internals such as bearing, Screws, Bushes, Cartridge, Mech. Seal spares, end
cover etc. as per requirement
7.
Clean the internals as per requirement
8.
Box up the pump with new o ring / gasket/sealing ring etc. as per requirement
9.
Mount the Cartridge inside the barrel
10. Place the pump in position
11. Tighten the base bolts & pipe connections with new o ring/gaskets etc. as per requirement
12. Place the motor in position.
13. Carry out alignment of pump with motor as per EIC/ OEM manual.
14. Carry out coupling the motor with pump.
15. Charge the system and attend if any defects.

Loosen the fasteners of the coupling and remove coupling spacer/ coupling hub as per requirement.
Remove the oil/ seal water connections as per requirement.
Open bearing covers, remove bearing, bearing housing, thrust collar etc from shaft as per requirement.
Remove complete seal assembly from pump after necessary locking arrangement etc..
Install the new/ repaired seal with pump.
Fix the bearing/ bearing housing into the shaft/ housing after necessary cleaning.
Measurement of bearing clearances & thrust bearing float as per requirement.
Normalize the oil/ seal water lines.
Fit the coupling spacer/ hub and tighten the fasteners as per torque requirement etc as per requirement.
Take trail and attend defects, if any.
Dismantle the removed mechanical seal, renew/ lap sealing surface as per requirement.
Assemble the mechanical seal by using new `O' ring/ gasket and keep it ready as spare.

Loosen the fasteners of the coupling and remove coupling spacer etc. as per requirement.
Remove the necessary pipe connections as per requirement.
Open bearing cover, remove bearing from shaft.
Removal of thrust collar from position as per requirement
Thoroughly clean the parts and replace/ repair damaged parts, if any.
Checking of bearing clearances as per requirement and carry out necessary corrections if any.
Assemble the bearing/ bearing housing into the shaft.
Normalize the pipe connection.
Fit the coupling spacer and tighten the fasteners as per torque requirement etc.
Take trail run and attend defects, if any.

Align pump with gear box/ motor, after matching if required as per EIC / OEM manual.
Fitting of keys & bushes after alignment & carry out necessary correction in keys & bushes by grinding etc.
Fit the coupling spacer/ hub and tighten the fasteners as per requirement etc.

foundation bolts. Removal of necessary keys etc from position.
02) Align gear box with drive turbine, after matching if required as per EIC / OEM manual.
03) Fitting of keys etc after alignment & carry out necessary correction in keys by grinding etc.
04) Fit the coupling spacer/ hub and tighten the fasteners as per requirement etc.
05) Take trail run and attend defects, if any.
34. Complete replacement of TDBFP Gear box:

Loosening of foundation bolts. Removal from position.
Removal of all piping connection from gear box.
Removal of complete gear box from position.
Positioning of new gear boxes in foundation frame. Mounting of coupling hubs (DE & NDE).
Assembly of all oil pipes with new O-rings / gaskets.
Fit the coupling spaces and tighten the fasteners as per requirement etc.
Take trail run and attend defects, if any.
Loosen the fasteners of coupling (DE & NDE) side and remove coupling spacer/ hub in both DE & NDE
Removal of all piping connection from gear box as per requirement.
Removal of top cover from position.
Removal of input & output shaft from position.
Cleaning & inspection of all parts.
Replacement of defective parts, bearings, Oil seals etc as per requirement.
Assembly of gear box and box up of top cover.
Assembly of all oil pipes with new O-rings / gaskets.
Fit the coupling hubs & spaces and tighten the fasteners as per requirement etc.

Isolation & draining of Control fluid and BFP accumulators one by one.
Fix the testing kit on the accumulator and check the N2 gas pressure
Shift the N2 gas cylinder and fill the accumulator to the required gas pressure using charging kit
Again ensure the gas pressure using testing kit
Check for leakages in the filling valve and attend to it if any.
Charging the CF accumulators with oil & attending of defects if any
42. TDBFP hand barring and BFP freeness checking when not coming on barring gear:

01) Decouple of TDBFP drive turbine (both gear box & BFP side) and remove the spool piece of
engage-disengage coupling / flexible coupling as applicable.
02) Carry out hand barring of drive turbine as per requirement.
03) Fix the clamp in the coupling hub of BFP for rotation
04) Rotate the BFP using the clamp till freeness is achieved
05) Once freeness is achieved, box up the spool piece of Coupling
06) Box up engage-disengage / flexible coupling.
07) Charge barring gear system and check for leakages and attend if any.
Inspection of all parts & all O-rings, Replacement of defective parts if any.
Assembly of bowl discs & tightening of locking rings and box up of bowl assembly.
Inspection & cleaning of suction strainer.
Checking of gear box oil level, top up or replacement of gear box oil as per requirement.

2. Scope of Work:- Preventive maintenance and break down Maintenance of Turbine & auxiliaries of TMD as per
detail scope of work of following areas: -a. Steam Turbine and Auxiliaries b. Service and instrument air system c.

3. Material and facilities to be provided by NTPC:- Following material are to be provided by the NTPC for the
above work. a. Workshop facility. b. Water, air and electricity required for the work. c. Special tools and tackles
as required for carrying out this work. d. Hydra Crane, BOT, Fork lift, Suitable scaffolding material & ladders.
4. Material and facilities to be provided by Contractor:- a. Experienced, qualified and competitive manpower. b.
Safety helmet, safety shoes and other PPE for contractor's manpower. c. Contractor will have to arrange their
own arrangement for boarding, lodging and conveyance for manpower deployed.. d. T&P for satisfactory and
timely completion of job as per list enclosed.(Annexure I) e. Consumables like kerosene, diesel, rustoline,
thinner, cotton waste, marking/cloth, emery paper, hacksaw blades, wire brushes, scrappers, cutting & grinding
wheels, general purpose electrodes, cutting gases(DA &O2)etc. f. Two numbers of cutting & welding set and one
set of Argon welding set along with DA, Oxygen, argon cylinders.
5. Site Clean - Up After completion of the work, all sites and work area has to be cleaned properly by the
Contractor. Scrap and waste generated during work has to be shifted to scrap yard or place as per direction of
EIC.
6. Safety All safety measures in respect of contractor' s personnel has to be taken care by the contractor. Safety
personal protection equipment's e.g. Safety helmet and safety shoes are to be arranged by contractor from the
first day of work as required for the successful completion of the work. Failing which, on very next day NTPC will
provide the above PPEs on non returnable basis as per standard NTPC rate.
7. Defect Liability Period -Three months
1. The works are to be carried out under strict, efficient supervision and with utmost safety. To ensure the same,
contractor shall post qualified, experienced & adequate site supervisors.
2. PERIOD OF CONTRACT - shall be 12 months from the date of commencement of work and shall be
extended in continuous for another 12 Months on same rate terms & conditions . During the contract period, the
contractor shall attend to various jobs detailed in subsequent chapters as per the instruction of
engineer-in-charge. NTPC reserves its right to terminate the contract before the completion period. Since it is a
rate contract, the quantities indicated in the contract are indicative only and may vary depending on actual
requirement. The contractor shall not have any extra claims over the agreed rates on account of increase or
decrease in quantities during the contract period.
3. PAYMENT TERM - Monthly payments shall be made on the basis of actual quantity of work executed during
the month against submission of bills subject to verification by engineer-in-charge.
4. PRICE BASIS - The contract shall be executed on firm price basis and during the contract period, no deviation
in rates shall be accepted. Hence, it is advised that Contractor should make himself familiar with the nature,
location and type of jobs. The rate shall be inclusive of service charges, overheads, profits, consumables, safety
appliances, T&P etc.The Quoted rates shall be inclusive of all taxes and duties except service tax.Service Tax
will reimbursed extra on submission of documentary evidence.
5. Quality of work:
5.1 NTPC will give PTW for Preventive Maintenance as well as Breakdown Maintenance work depending upon
the plant condition. However, no idling charge shall be paid to the contractor under any circumstances
whatsoever it may be.
5.2 All preventive work will be planned one day in advance and same will be intimated to contractor and

accordingly contractor has to make necessary arrangement of additional manpower if required to carry out work.
5.3 Quality & Standard of routine and preventive maintenance works have to be ensured by contractor so that no
breakdown of equipment or system should occur thereafter or during its running. Standard engineering practices
/ instruction of engineers to be followed. No additional payment will be made for break down job/works. In case
of unsatisfactory job quality, party may be asked to redo the job or rectify the defects without any extra cost.
5.4 The contractor will have to submit program one-day in advance to arrange permit to work. The contractor
shall also ensure HOT WORK PERMITS applicable for any gas cutting, welding or hot work and should also
observe full safety precaution to avoid any fire/other accident.
5.5 The contractor should ensure his or his authorized representative availability to receive all instructions
regarding execution of work and to handle to site activity.
5.6 Jobs have to be done in the working plant. Hence, as per situation, if work has to be stopped in between, no
extra charge will be made. Permit system operative in BSTPP has to be strictly adhered to.
5.7 All the drawings are indicative and can be seen from TMD office. The contractor may be asked to do the
maintenance as per existing arrangement and repair accordingly and the fitment will have to be ensured.
5.8 PAINTING: All the new fabricated and erected structure/pipe lines (if any) ,are to be painted with one coat of
red-oxide and two coats final paints. The color will be as per requirement and instructions of Engineer-in-charge
or his authorized representative. Painting after OH of Pumps/equipments to be carried out. Painting material will
be provided by NTPC.
5.9 The works, depending on their nature, are to be carried out by experienced & suitable qualified man power.
To ensure the same NTPC may ask and check the qualification of the technicians.
5.10 All scrap and excess materials will have to be shifted to a store or place as decided by engineer-in-charge
or his representative.
5.11 The contractor or his authorized permanent, technical and administration representatives should be
available at site office all the time. The representative shall meet the engineer-in-charge for receiving the
necessary instruction on day to day basis.
5.12 On receiving instructions from engineer-in-charge, the contractor shall deploy experienced and adequate
number of man-power to carry out the work with the stipulated time schedule. The contractor may also have to
deploy additional manpower if required by engineer-in-charge.
5.13 The supervisor employed must be having sufficient experience in maintenance of Turbine, Turbine
auxiliaries, valves, fans, pumps, blowers, fabrication work and other mechanical equipments.
5.14 NTPC shall provide all type of lubricants and spare parts used in the equipment. The contractor shall take
delivery of these at NTPC store, transport it to site, do the work and return the defective spares removed (if any)
to designated places as per instructions of NTPC representative without any extra cost. All arrangements for
above shall be done by the contractor for which required hydra, pick-up van etc. will be arranged by NTPC.
However, a manual trolley for transportation of small volume material has to be maintained by the contractor.
5.15 Consumables like kerosene, diesel, thinner, cotton waste, cloth, emery paper, hacksaw blades, wire
brushes, scrappers, cutting & grinding wheels, general purpose electrodes (6013/7018 of make D&H, ADVANI,
ESSAB only) etc. Shall be arranged by the contractor at his own cost. The contractor shall ensure that all the
required consumables are stocked at site in sufficient quantity so that work is not hampered at any point of time
due to un-availability of these items.
5.16 T&P - contractor has keep to minimum tools tackles as per enclosed list however this list is not exhaustive
& will have to arrange additional T&P as and when required, as directed by engineer-in-charge.
5.17 All special tools and tackles shall be provided by NTPC. The broad meaning of special tool and tackles
shall be "all those tools which are of not general purpose and have been specifically tailored to meet a particular
requirement of particular equipment shall be designated as special tools and tackles". However, final meaning of
this will be as interpreted by engineer-in-charge. Normal hand tools shall have to be provided by contractor.

5.18 Contractor has to depute sufficient additional manpower for emergency jobs within the short notice period.
In case the contractor fails to provide the additional man-power within the notice period given, NTPC will have
the right to arrange the same and will recover the cost from the contractor.
5.19 Contractor shall maintain a work order book at site to get instructions from engineer-in-charge.
5.20 Contractor will be required to work on Sundays, holidays, in shifts and during night also seeing the urgency
/ requirement of the work. The payment shall be made as per the rates quoted only. Contractor shall not demand
any extra payment from NTPC towards this.
5.21 All scaffoldings made for maintenance has to be removed immediately after the completion of work and for
this no charge will be paid.
5.22 Any damage to NTPC property has to be repaired/ renewed by the party free of cost. If any spares are to
be provided in this work by NTPC, the cost of such spares will be recovered from contractor.
5.23 Food and snacks etc to be arrange by the contractor, at his own cost, for his manpower on site during
emergency/ break down work.
5.24 Two numbers of cutting & welding set and one set of Argon welding set along with DA, Oxygen, argon
cylinders should always be available at site. Empty cylinders are to be immediately get filled to avoid any delay in
work.
6. FAILURE OF CONTRACTOR TO ATTEND A JOB IN A STIPULATED TIME : In case, contractor leaves the
work partially, the same left out work can be completed departmentally or with the help of some other agency.
The cost thus incurred shall be deducted from the bills of the contractor.
7. COMPLETION OF JOB : 1 The job shall be defined as completed only after the equipment is recharged and
the defects observed earlier do not reoccur. The equipment will be put on trial run and observed for a time period
as decided by engineer-in-charge before accepting completion of the job. In case the maintenance carried out is
not accepted by engineer-in-charge, the same shall be redone by the contractor without any extra cost. 2 Any
machining or other workshop facility required will be extended as per availability of same on free of cost.
8. LABOUR RULES & REGULATION :
1 The contractor shall comply with all the industrial acts, viz. Minimum wages act, employees liability act.
workmen compensation act, contract labour regulation, arbitration act & the employees state insurance act, or
any modification thereof or any other law relating thereto and made there under from time to time and maintains
various all records required.
2 Contractor will pay wages, allowances including other benefits such as workman's compensation, provident
fund, bonus and any other claims arising out of such employment under law and award as may be payable to
the workers employed by contractor from time to time and also furnish P.F. code certificates issued from
appropriate authority for contractor's employees.
3 The contractor shall provide all details of payment made by him to his employees to the engineer-in-charge, if
asked for.
4 The contractor shall ensure discipline and integrity of the personnel deployed by him and disobedience and
indiscipline by any of the contractors employee, he will be removed from work as per the directions of
engineer-in-charge.
5 The contractor is required to pay wages in presence of NTPC representative.
6 The contractor and his employees shall co-operate with all other agencies working at site.
7 Necessary entry gate pass for BSTPP premises will be required for the contractor employees as per rules
pertaining at the time of contract. The necessary formalities required to get the gate pass shall be done by

contractor.
8 The party has to provide proper identity cards to all the workmen before engaging them at work site.
9 If any misconduct, negligence or incompetence of any worker is reported, he is to be removed immediately
from the work site as per the instruction of Engineer-in-charge.
9.SAFETY:
9.1 The work is to be carried out only after getting "permit to work" (PTW) from area maintenance engineer.
9.2 The contractor has to make all safety arrangements for men and material during the work. He has to follow
all safety rules strictly. The contractor shall be held responsible for any lapse in safety. During the work, if any
persons of contractor meet with an accident, the responsibility of medical treatment of the labour and payment of
compensation if any under applicable rules/regulations/statutory requirement lies with the contractor.
9.3 Party has to impart awareness to all his personnel regarding safety. They may approach NTPC safety deptt.
for guidance in this regard
9.4 The contractor's workmen will be required to work at various heights, locations and in vicinity of rotating /
running equipment and also equipment in not working conditions. He should give proper instructions to workmen
to be careful to avoid accidents.
9.5 All safety measures in respect of contractor's personnel have to be take care by the contractor The
contractor shall arrange proper and sufficient number of Personal Protective Equipments such as hand gloves,
helmets, nose-muff, ear muffs, safety shoes, first aid box, safety belt, protective equipments for welding and gas
cutting etc., and ensure that his workmen use them during the execution of work as deemed fit by
Engineer-in-charge. The PPE should be of good quality and damaged/unusable PPE is to be replaced by the
party free of cost.
9.6 The contractor shall ensure that his manpower strictly adhere to safety rules and instructions given to them
by NTPC Safety Engineer / Engineer-in-charge or his representative during execution of the work.
9.7 It is mandatory for all workers to wear boiler suit, safety helmet and safety shoes at work place. Failure to
compliance of above them shall not be allowed in the work place.
10. COMMUNICATION The contractor shall provide mobile phone to the site in-charge / supervisor for BSTPP
for effective and efficient communication with NTPC officials
11. The contractor shall immediately vacate the premises allotted to him during execution of the contract, on
completion of the contract.
12. Normal working times will be from 0830 hrs to 1730 hrs (8 hrs / day) excluding lunch break from 1300 hrs to
1400 hrs. During brake down / in emergency, manpower will have to be deployed during off hours timing/
Sunday/holiday also, same rate will be applicable during off hours working. Work has to be carried out in shifts
also as per the requirement of the job. Contractor has to deploy manpower accordingly without any additional
cost to NTPC.
13. Minimum Manpower - following are required to be deployed for smooth functioning of day to day jobs.

The minimum manpower as mentioned above is indicative only. Man power may be increased or decreased as
per the need/nature of the work and contractor has to mobilize/arrange manpower accordingly as per instruction
of EIC. NO UNSKILLED MANPOWER SHALL BE DEPLOYED BY THE CONTRACTOR DURING THE
CURRENCY OF THE CONTRACT. Payment of Wages:The contractor shall pay not less than fair wage to
workers engaged by him on the work. "Fair Wages" means wages to be paid should consider the nature of the
work being carried out, the qualification and the experience of the worker to carry out the job as per requirement

of the contract. However in any case it shall not be less than the minimum wages fixed by the Govt. of Bihar or
Govt. of India whichever is higher for the class of employees engaged.
The contractor shall ensure the payment to the workers before 5th of each month. The contractor shall maintain
a wage register as per the format provided by the area engineer. The payment shall be made after taking the
signature of the worker in the wage register and duly certified by the area engineer. The copy of this wage sheet
shall be submitted along with the monthly bill.
The contract shall also submit the copy of the PF Challan, clearly certifying the name of the workers who's PF
has been deposited under that Challan. After one year the contractor shall also give the PF balance sheet for
the entire year, issued from the Office of the PF commissioner.
In case of non-observance of the above, NTPC will not accept and process the bill for payment and shall not be
responsible for delay in payment of the bill.
Contract value will remain firm during the complete execution period of the contract. If there is any wage revision
by Govt. of Bihar or Govt. of India, The contractor has to pay the wages whichever is higher and the extra
financial cost on account of wage revision has to be borne by the contractor/Party.
17. As NTPC is an ISO-14001 & ISO-18001 certified organization, contractor is bound to dispose the removed
gaskets (graphite, asbestos etc.), insulation material & other hazardous material to designated places only.

PENALTY CLAUSE:
Penalty rates for the following reasons:

03) Non-supply of manpower : Double the rate of the type of manpower.
04) Work delay due to shortage of general T&P : Rs.200/- per job per day.
05) Delay in schedule completion time : Rs. 500/- per day.
06) Not using safety appliances : Rs. 50/- per day per item per Man power deployed.
07) Damage of NTPC machinery & T&P : Repair of machinery/T&P free of Cost or 1.5 times the present cost
08) Loss of NTPC T&P and other items. : Replacement item from market or 1.5 times the present cost.
Manpower Requirement and Deputation
The contractor shall depute experienced, qualified and competitive manpower to take up this job. The manpower
should be sufficient to complete the job within the time frame and with acceptable quality standard. If require the
interview of manpower will be taken by NTPC after the award of work.

a.i) SUPERVISORS Skilled, well qualified and experienced supervisors for coordination, planning, and execution
of job are required. They should have sufficient previous working experience of Min 3 years of such type of
similar work in power station or in other reputed organization. They should be able to plan the jobs, material and
manpower etc. as per day to day activities. They should have good communication skills with workmen and be
able to motivate them for timely and qualitative completion of job. They shall be able to read the drawings of
assemblies and evaluate and plan the job accordingly.
Qualification - minimum Diploma in Engineering or from Industrial Training Institute.
a.ii) MILL WRIGHT FITTERSITTER/HIGH SKILLED They should have sufficient working experience of
Overhauling/ ALIGNMENT of mechanical equipments like PUMPS/COMPRESSORS /BLOWERS
/AGITATOR/FANS/ VALVES/SAFETY VALVES/NRV/GEAR BOX etc. Mill Wright fitters should be capable of
using and reading precision measuring instrument like Micrometer, Vernier, Filler gauge, Dial gauge etc. Mill
Wright fitters should have done alignment of such type machine previously and should be able to do the same
independently.
a.iii) FITTERS/GRINDERS They should be capable of dismantling, repairs and assembly PUMPS/
COMPRESSORS BLOWERS /AGITATOR/FANS/ VALVES/ SAFETY VALVES/NRV/ GEAR BOX etc. he should
have experience of fabrication work. He should be able to do precision work with cutting, grinders, scrapping,
polishing, gas heating torches, various other special tools and use precision measuring instruments. Fitters
should be capable of using and reading precision measuring instrument like Micrometer, Vernier, Filler gauge,
Dial gauge etc.
a.iv) RIGGERS / SARANG They should be capable of using right tools, tackles and other equipment for lifting &
shifting of dismantled and heavy parts with expertise. They should be capable of guiding and co-ordinations with
crane operator by giving signals and signs for crane movements. Manpower should also know the scaffolding
work.
a.v) SEMI-SKILLED They have to provide support to other category manpower for all the work activities. They
should have experience of mechanical jobs and should have knowledge of working tools, scaffolding work etc.
a.vi) HP WELDERS HP Welders should have GTAW and GMAW certificates of quality welding for stainless
steel and alloy steel from boiler inspector or some other standard welding institution.
a.vii) GENERAL WELDER They should have sufficient working experience of grinding, cutting and welding. He
should be able to carry out both arc and gas welding with safety. He should be able to carry out fabrication work
as per site requirement
