Chapter 1
Introduction

Computerization is a control system that manages processes in school. It reduced

human errors and processing time, thus it can lessen time. In Information System,
computerization is concerned about interrelating different but interdependent
transactions. This can result in a system with well-integrated processes that can perform
much faster and more precise than a manual system.
Student Information system has become important factors in modern education
field. This system should help the institutional to modernize the administrative task and
provide synchronized access to the data. This stage will provide a brief understanding
about the companys profile where the project has been executed and the current problem
that they face in managing student information. The study findings enable the definition
of the project problem statement, its objectives, scopes and advantages of the student
management system. This chapter will also cover the project plan and deliverables. The
brief understanding about the organization of the thesis will be discussed towards the end
of the chapter.

1.1.1 Background of the study

The new system will bring about efficient and effective academic information
system. The concise documentation of students and staff details will very improve its
timely decision support.
The project would also go a long way in development good perception of the
information age in our various institutions and individual organization thereby breaking
the ugly bone of continuous use of manual and outdated systems. It will also help in
making the processing of information as well as in the activity feedback faster, enlighten
our young database developers and provide for them a springboard. It also stirs and gives
focus to our institutions of higher learning on the facilities obtained in the use of modern
system of communication.
Based on our interview the school of United Methodist Church Values School
(UMCVS) is using a computerized accepting records and student info of each student,
which is use when technology is developed. Computerized keeping records is very
prompt to risk for any circumstances. Even if it is higher development of manual process.
These days it is becoming time consuming in terms of recording student information
because of everyday increasing population of the students, if some records are lost, they
never retrieve it in case of unexpected calamity. Accuracy and security is not been so
defined.

1.2.1 General Objectives

The general objective of this study is to develop a computerized student
information record keeping for United Methodist Church Values School (UMCVS) that
will serve as suggestion to make easy and has less effort by updating the student
information.

1.2.2 Specific Objective

1. Provide real-time information data.
Proponents will make a system has ability to records every students
information or matter met and would ensure accuracy and speed in recording
matter.
2. Develop a system that easily generates information data.
Proponents will make a system has the ability to provide guidelines where
you can see outputs of the student information.
3. Create a database that would organize necessary details of the student.
Proponents will make a system has the capability to access of real-time
information.

1.3 Significance of the Study

With the implementation of the Student information system of United Methodist

Church Values School (UMCVS) will be able to closely monitor its how they maintain all
the record, and other intangible advancement thus providing quality service to its future
and current clients.
1.4 Scope and Limitation of the Study
Scope
The proposed study is limited to keeping records of the student. It is concerned
with reports relevant for the management to make timely decisions and justifiable assessment of
the business. Reports which present labor auditing are not anymore within the scope of the study.
The system focuses on the following:

All the student information will be stored.

Add student also delete student information.

The findings of this study will be beneficial to the following:

The Management of United Methodist Church Values School (UMCVS). Data
and information analysis can be perform with the access of real-time information. Thus,
the management will be able to store students information.
The Students of United Methodist Church Values School (UMCVS). The
system would also be beneficial to the students since it makes reliable outputs of their
data information. Students would be served better and faster by the management of the
school.

Chapter 2
Methodology of the study
The proponents applied the RAD or Rapid Application Development method in
the study in order to have an organized output of the proponents study.
Prototyping
The prototyping methodology performs the analysis, design, and implementation
phases concurrently, and all three phases are performed repeatedly in a cycle until the
system is completed. In this case, the users of the system are an active participant of the
system development process. The prototype is handed to the users for testing and to
provide comments; which are the reanalyzed and redesigned, and a second prototype is
developed. The process continues in a cycle until the users and developers agree to a
final system.
Requirements Planning

The Requirements Planning stage consists of a review of the areas immediately

associated with the proposed system. This review produces a broad definition of the
system requirements in terms of the functions the system will support. The
deliverables from the Requirements Planning stage include an outline system area
model (entity and process models) of the area under study, a definition of the system's
scope, and a cost justification for the new system
User Design
The User Design stage consists of a detailed analysis of the business activities
related to the proposed system. Key users, meeting in workshops, decompose business
functions and define entity types associated with the system. They complete the
analysis by creating action diagrams defining the interactions between processes and
data. Following the analysis, the design of the system is outlined. System procedures
are designed, and preliminary layouts of screens are developed. Prototypes of critical
procedures are built and reviewed. A plan for implementing the system is prepared.
Construction
In the Construction stage, a small team of developers, working directly with users,
finalizes the design and builds the system. The software construction process consists
of a series of "design-and-build" steps in which the users have the opportunity to finetune the requirements and review the resulting software implementation. This stage
also includes preparing for the cutover to production.

In addition to the tested

software, Construction stage deliverables include documentation and instructions

necessary to operate the new application, and routines and procedures needed to put
the system into operation.

Implementation
The implementation stage involves implementing the new system and managing
the change from the old system environment to the new one. This may include
implementing bridges between existing and new systems, converting data, and
training users. User acceptance is the end point of the implementation stage.

Chapter 3
Data gathering, procedures and output
To be specific about the said methodology of the study the proponents provide other
details associated with the step of the RAD.
