If the planet is ruler of two houses, and located in a third house, the meanings

of the two ruled houses are resolved into the meaning of the third (location) h
ouse.
e.g: Ruler of 1st and 8th in the 7th , adverse celestial state => Native will be
killed or wounded by an open enemy etc
But
pay attention to the nature of the planet and its analogies with the meanings of
these houses, as well as celestial and terrestrial state.
(I think this can be done by first studying/listing the planet, analogies to occ
upied houses, celestial state, terrestrial state etc in some detail before combi
ning ruled and located houses and so on)
the following example is of a planet in an adverse celestial state not providing
value for houses it occupies or rules over, which is already covered, with the
exception that those aspects are here extended to the ruled planet.

Here the basic assumption seems to be that quadrant houses have two rulers per
house, on for each sign 'in' the house, with the planetary ruler of cusp taking
precedence.
When a planet in house X also rules house X, then the affairs of the house are n
ot then directly influenced by any other factors (but in quadrant houses this ca
n happen only for Capricorn/Aquarius, and intercepted houses?)
When more than one planet rules a house, the affairs of the house are subject to
forces different in kind, and therefore their condition is a mixture, without u
nity, and sometimes contradictory (why without unity?)
This is more likely when one ruler is a benefic and the other a malefic (so easi
ly Scorp/Sag, Sag/Capr, Aqu/Pis, Pis/Ari) and even more so when one ruler has st
rong celestial state, and the other poor c.s, *and* both are in square or opposi
tion.
However the planet ruling the cusp takes precedence when evaluating affairs of t
he house, but the other planet should not be neglected.

When a planet rules more than one house, a combination of the meanings of the tw

o houses is indicated, even when the planet is in neither.

e.g: same planet ruling ascendant and MC promises recognition in professional ac
tivities. Same planet ruling 7th and 8th promises danger and death from enemies
(so all gemini ascendants face this?) , especially if it is malefic and in adver
se celestial state.
Chapter 7; The determination of planets by exaltation and triplicity
A planet located in its sign of exaltation has greater influence for good or ill
on the meanings of the house in which it is located or rules.
An exalted planet also strengthens any planet by its conjunction or (positive?)
aspect.
? Does a planet *not* in its exaltation, have any influence over the *house* in
which its sign of exaltation falls?
e.g: The Sun is in 10th and in Cancer, but Jupiter is not in cancer, or tenth.
But does Jupiter via its exaltation in Cancer have an influence?
= yes. An eclipse occurring in the sign of a planets exaltation is considered t
o be under the influence. extend this principle to any planet in an exaltation
sign.
(imo this just treats exaltation to be a valid rulership as domicile)
e.g: Prince Gaston de Foix has Saturn in the 7th, and Libra in the 4th., so gain
s provinces etc via his wife.
e.g: Morin has Mars ruling the ascendant (Aries) while in Cancer where Jupiter i
s exalted. Morin explains his desire for fame (a personal characteristic so 1st
house) thus (via influence of Jupiter)
Judgement of a house should thus be made via the state of the planet ruling the
house *as well as* planet exalted in the house (iow consider both the domicile a
nd exaltation rulers)
Thus if Libra is on the ascendant, judgment of character should be made from the
state of Venus (domicile ruler) *and* Saturn (exaltation ruler).
If Saturn were in Libra, its judgment should be made from its exalted status, as
also the state of its ruler Venus. If Venus were in good celestial state, and a
pplies to Saturn by trine or conjunction, Saturn's power would be increased.
Nevertheless, planet ruling by domicile takes precedence over one ruling by exal
tation.
