Objective:studying effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to anaerobic exercise
fatigue recovery of university student.Method:observing index variation of heart
rate, blood lactic acid,BUN,T/C,CK and sports performance of 8 competitive speed
sports students in Capital University of Physical Education and Sports before
exercise, after exercise, after recovery and morning of next day under condition of
oxygen cabin.Comparison analysis is made with index of spontaneous
recovery.Results:1) Heart rate index in hyperbaric oxygen cabin is better than
spontaneous recovery.2) Blood lactic acid index in hyperbaric oxygen cabin is better
than spontaneous recovery.3) BUN index in hyperbaric oxygen cabin is better than
spontaneous recovery.4) CK index in hyperbaric oxygen cabin is better than
spontaneous recovery.5) T/C index in hyperbaric oxygen cabin is better than
spontaneous recovery. Conclusion:due to high pressure and oxygen, hyperbaric
oxygen therapy speeds up mechanism's metabolism speed after exercise, which is in
favor of heart rate, blood lactic acid,BUN,T/C recovery of mechanism after
exercise, improves sports performance, but with unapparent influence to CK.

effect of hyperbaric oxygen on recovery fiom
anaerobic exercise. Canadian Journal of Applied
Physiology 20 (Suppl): 2P.
Bacon et al. (1 995) investigated the effect(s) of HBO on performance and
blood lactate metabolism following anaerobic exercise. On two separate
days, eight femaie field hockey players were required to perform a
strenuous anaerobic exercise protocol followed by 45 minutes of either
HBO (100% oxygen at 2.0 ATA) or sham conditions within a hyperbaric
chamber. Irnrnediately after this, subjects were then required to complete
a repeated Wingate performance trial. No significant ciifferences were
found between conditions for post-hyperbaric mean power outputs or

blood lactate values. Therefore, the investigators concluded that HBO was
ineffective for enhancing recovery fiom anaerobic exercise.
