Burns is a form of skin trauma that occurs as a result of human activities in the
household, industrial, traffic accident, or natural disasters. Based on the initial
survey shows that there are still many rural communities that do an initial
treatment in burns inappropriately, and one reason is public knowledge. When the
public knowledge about early treatment on burns is low, the people will do the
initial treatment of burns with incorrect and will cause wounds never healed. The
aim of research is to determine the effect of learning methods numbered head
together toward knowledge Prehospital treatment of burns cases.
Pre-experimental research design using one-group pretest-posttest design, with a
total sampling method. Samples taken as many as 35 respondents, they were PKK
members in Desa Pengangsalan, Kalitengah, Lamongan in November 2015. Data
were retrieved using observation sheet and questionnaire. Once tabulated, the data
were analyzed by using the Wilcoxon test.
The results showed that prior to learning methods Numbered head together mostly
mothers knowledge of PKK member are less as 57.1%, while, after learning
methods numbered heads together mostly PKK member are knowledgeable
enough as much as 54.3%. Based on the results obtained wilcoxon test value Z =
4.690 to P = 0.000 where P <0.05.
Statistical tests results obtained there are significant Numbered Head Together
Learning Method to the knowledge of pre-hospital handling cases of burns in
Desa Pengangsalan, Kalitengah, Lamongan.
Based on the research community should be more attention to the cause of burns
in order to avoid burns, and if there were burns immediate first aid in accordance
with what has been taught.
