Abstract -Seiring growing world of music, a lot

of people already have a guitar. A simple
problem that often happens in real life are often
those users who want to buy a guitar without a
basic knowledge of the components in it. So
many people who buy a guitar met with wellknown brands and the prices are so expensive,
but in the end is not in accordance with its use.
Or conversely, choosing a cheap price, but
ultimately could not meet the requirements
wanted. It would be better before choosing a
guitar, then we must pay attention to our needs
and budget so we were not wrong pilih.Untuk it
is necessary a decision support system to make
the process of selecting a guitar effectively and
efficiently. Decision support system is an
interactive system that supports decision in the
decision making process through alternatives
derived from the processing of data, information
and design model.Pembuatan a decision support
system using k-means clustering method is able
to resolve the issue of election for the guitar.
Given this decision support system, able to
provide convenience and provide a solution to
someone in choosing the right guitar and also in
accordance with the needs and budgets.

Then in line with advances in information

technology are also then made a variety of systems
that help a management include decision support
system based komputer.Sistem-based computer is
designed to increase the effectiveness of making a
decision in finding solutions to the problems of
semi-structured or unstructured. [1]

I.INTRODUCTION
With the growing use of the software in all
areas of life in society, forms of working with a
computer system usage is also becoming
increasingly developing. Work with computer
systems are no longer just used just to process the
data and present information, but the result of a
process that is processed can also be used to
support a solution to a problem or decision support
with available alternatives.

Advances in technology today is increasingly

rapidly. Many innovations are made to facilitate
people. In nearly all walks of life are now using
technology to meet its needs, one in art /
entertainment especially musik.Alat musical
instruments today is growing, especially guitar. The
guitar is a musical instrument that is almost there in
many different types of music. The guitar is the
most important element in a band. The stringed
instruments are very many types and shapes are
affected by the changing times.
A simple problem that often happens in real life
are often those users who want to buy a guitar
without a basic knowledge of the components in it
or are often said to specification. So many people
who buy a guitar met with well-known brands and
the prices are so expensive, but in the end is not in
accordance with its use. Or conversely, choosing a
cheap price, but ultimately could not meet the
requirements wanted. It would be better before
choosing a guitar, it must address the needs and
budget so no one chose.
Therefore, it takes some analysis to support
decision making in the selection of guitars
which can result in decisions of the various
alternatives that exist in choosing a gitar.Dari the
above conditions, the authors conducted research to
create a system with the title "The Effect of Method
K-Means Clustering On Guitar Election Decision
Support System ". Then with this system is
expected to provide ease and assist consumers in
making decisions for the selection of guitars.

II. LITERATURE REVIEW

2.1 History of Guitar
The guitar is a stringed musical instrument
made of wood with some part of which consists of
discount six metal straps or strings to play. The top
and bottom are generally from the body of the
guitar-shaped figure fruit 8.Enam strings tied to
pegs or string players are drawn along the body of
the guitar. Pegs or string player is used to set or
setting of the sound of the guitar tone. These
instruments are very well known and his voice
allegedly had a romantic nature. No wonder why
many people use the guitar as one to seduce. [2]
The types of guitars among others, are as follows:
A. The acoustic guitar, with the body part that
has a hole (hollow body), has been used for
several thousand years. There are several
main types of modern acoustic guitar, nylonstring acoustic guitar, acoustic guitar senarsteel, and the archtop guitar. Classical guitar
is usually played on a solo instrument using
a comprehensive technique of finger
picking.
B. Electric guitar, began in the 1930s,
depending on the amplifier centered
electronically and were able to manipulate
the sound of the guitar. At the beginning of
the user, using the electric guitar hollow
body (hollow body), and then developed for
use on solid bodies (solid body) is
considered more appropriate. Wide famous
electric guitar as the main instrument in
various music genres such as blues, rock,
reggae and more. [3]
C. Semi-acoustic guitar is a type of guitar that
can be played as well as guitar acoustic
guitar elektrik.Gitar this type are made in
order to produce a better and melodious as
well as having two functions therein. [4]
2.2 Decision Support System
Decision Support System is a system that
produces an information centered on a problem
which must be solved keluarnya.Sistem decision
support is a relevant part of the whole system of
organization or decision support lembaga.Sistem
also has a definition of a systematic approach to the
the nature of the problem, gathering facts complete
determinant of alternative faced and a final
decision is tepat.Sistem decision support is a
computer-based systems and is able to find
solutions to a wide variety of lots or a management

decision to assist in dealing with various problems

structured models and data used therein. [5]
Aspects of decision support systems begins
with the following subsystems:
1.

2.

3.

Data Management Subsystem include databases

which are relevant to the circumstances and the
management of its perngkat called DBMS
(Database Management System).
Model Management Subsystem includes a
software package in which there are financial
models, statistics, management science or
quantitative models that have the ability to
analysis and management software suitable.
Knowledge Management Subsystem is a
subsystem (optional), capable of supporting
other subsystems or a stand-alone components.
4. User Interface Subsystem is a subsystem
that is used by the user should for the
purpose
of
communicating
and
government members (provides user
interface).
5. The user is unity in it which includes the
users themselves, managers, and decision
makers. [6]

2.3 Clustering
Clustering is the process of grouping or
classification of objects based on similar
characteristics of the information obtained from the
data describing the relationship between objects
.Clustering is one of data mining methods that have
traits - traits without direction (unsupervised) that
this method can be used without the need for
exercise and without teacher or teacher and does
not require an output (output). [7]
There are two types of clustering methods in data
mining that is typically used in data classification,
namely:
A. Hirarchical clustering method is the case
for the number of groups has not been
determined. Starting from the grouping of
two or more objects that have the closest
distance equation. Then proceed to the
second process where other obejk have
equal second closest and so on.
B. Non Hirarchical clustering method is the
number of groups or clusters have been
determined in advance. After that amount
known to proceed with the method used is
the K-Means Clustering is where without
having to follow the process hierarchy.
2.4 K-Means Clustering
K-means clustering is a method of nonhierarchical clustering of data that is capable of
classifying data into a form of one or more

clusters / groups exist. Data that have the same

characteristics will be grouped into one cluster / the
same group as well and data that have different
characteristics grouped by cluster / group of the
other so that the data will be in it become a cluster /
group has a small degree of variation.
Next K-Means testing individual components
within the data population and mark these
components into one center. Clusters are defined
depending on the distance minimum between the
components with each cluster center. The position
of the center cluster to the center of each cluster
and the latter will form the center-cluster baru.
Langkah the following steps:
1. Determine the number of K clusters.
2. Initialize K cluster centers, can be obtained
at random.
3. Search data is closer to the center of the
cluster and mark the data point in the center
of the nearest cluster and the cluster center
position is calculated back to the average
member of each cluster.
4. Check all the data once again and put any
data that is closest to the center of the
cluster (cluster center does not count
anymore). If the members of each cluster
center does not change, stop, and if they
turn back to step to the third.
Here is the formula Euclidean Distance:

K-means clustering unsupervised one of the

data mining technique that is used in the processing
of large datasets by grouping objects into a smaller
place called cluster.Objek in one cluster can be
used to share some degree of similarity. [9]
There are several key factors in achieving good
results from this clustering .One of them is the
ability to find a good centroid location for a head
start. Another factor is the ability to discover
optimal from an outside data. [10]
III. Methodology
3.1 Calculation of K-Means Clustering
In this system there are three types of guitars
(acoustic, semi-acoustic and electric) and 3 types of
guitar price (cheap, normal, and high) for each type
of guitar. So in this system there are nine clusters
namely Acoustic Cheap, Normal Acoustics,
Acoustic Mahal, Semi Acoustic Offers, Semi
Acoustic Normal, Semi Acoustic Mahal, Cheap
Electric, Electric Normal and Electrical Mahal.
Calculation of the ninth cluster to determine the
distance of each election guitar are as follows:

A. Calculations to determine the distance of

each election guitar with the provisions of
the central cluster which is randomly
determined, for example:
Grouping limit Guitar Type:
1: Acoustic Guitar
2: Semi Acoustic Guitar
3: Electric Guitar
Limit Grouping Price Guitar
Acoustic guitar
1: Cheap (<300,000)
2: Normal (300000-700000)
3: Expensive (> 700,000)
Semi Acoustic Guitar
4: Cheap (<800,000)
5: Normal (800000-2000000)
6: Expensive (> 2,000,000)
Electric guitar
7: Cheap (<1.5 million)
8: Normal (1500000-3000000)
9: Expensive (> 3,000,000)
center cluster is determined, for

example:

C1 = 1.1 (Acoustic Guitar For Cheap Cluster)

C2 = 1.2 (For Normal Cluster Acoustic Guitar)
C3 = 1.3 (For Cluster Acoustic Guitar Mahal)
C4 = 2.4 (Semi Acoustic Guitar For Cheap
Cluster)
C5 = 2.5 (For Cluster Semi Acoustic Guitar
Normal)
C6 = 2.6 (For Semi Acoustic Guitar Cluster
Mahal)
C7 = 3.7 (For Electric Guitar Cluster Offers)
C8 = 3.8 (For Electric Guitar Cluster Normal)
C9 = 3.9 (For Electric Guitar Cluster Mahal)
Calculate the distance from any existing data on
each cluster center. For example, to calculate the
distance the data (results of a question) to the
center of the cluster is determined.
