My Career Goals
Hospitality & Tourism Management is considered to be the most sought after degree today. Every
student, somewhere down his or her career, wants to pursue it and I am no different in that aspect. But
what may differentiate me from other prospects is that I am conscious of the goals set in my life and
the link between pursuing a program and the achievement of these goals. Getting a Hospitality &
Tourism Management degree for me is not an end; it is a small part of a bigger journey, a tool
that will help me to live that journey better.
Tourism has created new waves on the world horizon. It has made the world a truly global village.
Hospitality industry is a major sector in the tourism industry, which, in turn is one of the biggest and
fastest growing sectors in the global economy in terms of gross revenue and foreign exchange
earnings. It has been a major social phenomenon and is driven by social, religious, recreational,
knowledge seeking and business interests and motivated by the human urge for new experience,
adventure, education, and entertainment. Tourism is both cause and consequence of economic
development. It has the potential to stimulate other sectors in the economy owing to cross-synergistic
benefits and its backward and forward linkages.
Thus, after being aware of its current status and its future scope my Long term career objective is to
hold the reins of a large business and guide it towards long term success contributing in global
tourism market scenario. By having new advances in technology which may continue to alter
the relationship between hotels and guests, wherein I could advance analytical approaches to
Hospitality management. Running a business as its Head will be a natural career progression after
having gained varied industry experience. I wish to make a positive contribution to the world for which
success at each of the step, that will lead to my final ambition, is necessary. The path of professional
success that I have carved for myself demands diligence, dedication, focus and sacrifices. I know that
I am a PERFORMER and will definitely achieve success.
My Background And Experience
Who am I? I am a seeker of excellence in all spheres. This search for excellence has been a
revelation, which has helped me unravel the mysteries of my ultimate goal of leading a fulfilling life. I
firmly believe in the holistic development of my persona.
Hindsight, I can see myself as an inquisitive child, born to a business-class family of ordinary
educational and cultural background. Being the youngest member of a huge joint gourmand family, my
grandmother, who is an amazing cook and my father being a successful businessman, inculcated in
me the seeds of logical thinking and intriguing ideas. Quite conceivably, much before formally joining
school, I developed a flair for cooking & management.
I did my Secondary Schooling from Campion School & Senior Secondary from St Joseph Co-ed School
in the idyllic atmosphere of which I gradually flourished as a versatile person. I got benefited with the
breadth of the CBSE syllabi content that has given me a comprehensive exposure to the core areas of
Computers and a strong conceptual understanding of the Management subjects. My keen interest in
gaining the hold of the core of the subject gave me an edge over other students. I outshined it with
FIRST DIVISION (7.6 CGPA) in 10th though there were others who scored better than me but I
was appreciated for the depth and clarity of my knowledge and the way how I presented my
papers & for 12th the results are awaited.

As the school plays a stepping stone in every childs life, it even encouraged me to do some
extracurricular activities; which in long run helped me to become a better and an extrovert person. This
encouragement and involvement helped me to have an open and a positive attitude in life. I actively
participated in state level RBI quiz, Bachpan quiz, GK quiz at district level, International English
Olympiad wherein I ranked first, participated in international commerce qualifier and young bulls where
I secured 7th All India rank. I even got an opportunity to clear 1st part of scout in national level.
During my high school my hard core fascination towards event management and intensified craze to
prove something whopping, compelled me underwent a diploma course for 1 month on Event
Management and got a chance to organize a school event party of more than 200 people at Hotel
Ashoka. The event went out to be a success and I was appreciated a lot for the teamwork,
management, catering and hospitality .The consecutive year also I was chosen the president and
organized another event in one of the most renowned Hotel Sayaji, this event turned out to be a grand
success, whose media coverage came in the local newspaper of the city The Patrika this boosted a
lot of confidence in me.
This diminutive trail compelled me, and to satiate the quest for knowledge, I attended various seminars
on healthy cooking by Sanjeev Kapoor, participated in a 8 day workshop on Barbeque cooking at
Hotel Sayaji, chocolate and cake workshop conducted by bake & shake, workshop on improving health
by Rakhi Mishra. While learning the core aspects of culinary, I kept myself abreast with the latest
developments in the field of management by attending lectures held at my school on How to improve
management tips. I also got an opportunity to attend Prof Vijay Shankar Mehtas lecture on
management courses, attended a management workshop at IIM Indore. Apart from all this to explore
the meaning for life I enrolled myself in the foundations like ISHA, SHIVYOG & VIPASHNA and
attended regularly all its seminars based on life, spirituality and enlightenment.
My guru Shri avdhood baba shivanandji always keep saying this to me Believe in yourself,
never doubt your capabilities, visualize and create a strong belief. Thereof, I have delved deep
into its realms and started teaching cooking on my own. At the age of 15 I took my first chocolate
making classes which had 27 students, this motivated me to further pursue in this field. My next
attempt was to take this to another dimension of my career that was self entrepreneurship; I
started selling homemade chocolates & cakes. It took me a great deal of efforts and hard work
along with constant advertisements for which I was rewarded with good clientele and huge
orders.

I have always been an avid learner and it has had varied positive outcomes in classrooms and outside.
Being an ardent Sanjeev kapoor follower, I have consumed copious amounts of information
available about him; his biography, various videos available online and numerous other articles
written about him over the years. To be like one you admire the most, one needs to strive
and put in a lot of hard work. With this in mind I managed to get a summer
internship at MILAN for 4 months after my 10th grade exams & the prestigious J W Mariott
for a week after my pre-board 12th
grade exams. . An apprentice program with its
exceptional pedagogy, diverse curriculum and multifarious student body, I believe, has not only boosted
my prowess in culinary and management, but also simultaneously helped me develop as an individual. I
got a chance to be a part of the renowned hotels and learnt a lot in the TLC, marketing & culinary
department, front end and desk work.
This invigorated the assertiveness on my proficiency with quick absorption skills and flexibility to get
acquainted with an entirely different domain within a very short span of time. I decided to venture into
a new sphere of influence and embarked into getting on record with The Guinness book of
world record. For that I made a team of 50 members for making the longest sandwich in the
world, till date it has been accepted by The India Book of Records.
My Academic record throughout has been good. I have always believed that an all round personality is
a MUST today which should have the right blend of extra-curricular activities and hobbies. I thank GOD
daily for what he has given me in life. A happy life, wonderful family background, loving Parents and
enough money, what more could one ask for? I am of the view that the best way to thank GOD for all
that he has given us is to help others especially the deprived ones. I always keep on doing my bit in
this regard. I have been regularly volunteering in ISHA Foundation, Shiv-Yog, Art of Living &

Vipasana . Have helped and donated money for Local Ngos. I have selflessly served in
Educare, Sevatrust & Lifehealth foundations. Nevertheless, I believe that social work begins
from home first; I have also taught our servants children for 2 years.
