Zeroth and first laws of thermodynamics:


Heat and work (reversible, irreversible, isothermal,
adiabatic), Internal energy, enthalpy, Joules experiment
(ideal and van der Waals gas), different types of heat
capacities. Second law of thermodynamics, Carnot and
refrigeration cycles, entropy change, Clausius inequality,
Gibbs and Helmholtz free energies, GibbsHelmholtz
equation, equilibrium and spontaneity criteria. Maxwells
relations and the thermodynamic equations of state,
Combination of first and second law of thermodynamics.
JouleThomson experiment (ideal and van der Waals gas).

Thermochemistry:
Thermochemical equation, Kirchoffs equations, different
type of heats of reactions (entropy, enthalpy and Gibbs
energy) and their standard state. Hesss law, Lavoisier and
Laplaces law.

Unimolecular (Lindemann) and bimolecular reactions;
