OBJECTIVE
Thisexerciseaimstotrainstudentstoformulateandwritearesearchproposal.Writingaresearchproposalisa
complexandimportanttaskrequiredbeforestartingresearchproject.
Aresearchproposalisadocumentwrittenbyaresearcherthatprovidesadetaileddescriptionoftheproposed
program.Researchproposalscontainextensiveliteraturereviewsandmustofferconvincingsupportofneedfor
theresearchstudybeingproposedbyidentifyingthegapsthatareintheliterature.
Aresearchproposalisintendedtoconvinceothersthatyouhaveaworthwhileresearchprojectandthatyou
havethecompetenceandtheplantocompleteit.
Totalworkloadisabout112hours
PROJECTORGANIZATION.
Studentsareexpectedtowritearesearchproposal(2000words)onthesubjecttheyhavechosentoaddress.
ForMasterstudents:Researchproposalisrelatedfortheirmasterthesis.
ForstudentsinParcoursrecherche:Researchproposalisbuiltfromatopicdefinedbyaseniorresearcher.
Threeintermediatedeliverablesarestructuredtoguidestudentsthroughtheproposalwritingprocess.

Aseachstudentisworkingunderthedirectionofaseniorresearcher,studentistaskedwithplanningthe
meetingswiththeirowndirectors.Strategichelpcanbeprovidedbyprofessorinchargeofthecourseandduring
theresearchingoperationsmanagementcourse.

Eachresearchprojectisbasedonpreviouswork,typicallyprovidedbyresearchdirector.Thiscanbethestarting
pointoftheliteraturereview.Studentshavetodeveloptheirowncollectionofrelevantpapersusingdatabases
(sciencedirect,webofknowledge,scorpus,googlescholar,Gael,biblioST2ICNRS)

itself(1pageofexplanationofhowtoreadthedocument).Again,youwilllikelyreusethisdocumentinyour
