There are five divisions in the overall structure of
the Department of Tourism -- Office of the
Secretary, Tourism Promotions Sector, Tourism
Services and Regional Offices Sector, Planning
Product Development and Coordination, and the

Foreign Case Study

Government Complex - Sejong

Galmaero, Sejong-si, South Korea
A site chosen for Korea's administrative center
was Sejong City which has rich history since it
was named after the father of Korean alphabet -King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty. A new home
for more than 10,000 civil servants from over 40
government organizations, the government
complex are planned to incorporate an urban
plaza where citizens are free to engage in various
cultural and art activities and festivities.
Aside from dispersing the crowd transacting with
the government offices, the transfer to a new city
was also for the purpose of pushing the critical
ministries out of the 35-mile missile ride from
North Korea to Seoul.

Foreign Case Study

Ministry of Social Development Headquarters

Santiago, Chile
The construction for a new building for the
Ministry of Social Development Headquarters
(Ministerio de Desarollo Social) in Chile is quite a
challenge due to the fact that the location of the
project is beside a historic landmark.
The Santa Ana Church was considered as the most
beautiful expression of Chilean religious
architecture from the nineteenth century. The
headquarters' land area is directly beside the
church which puts the project in a challenging
position.
