DTU Environment invites highly talented young researchers who have obtained outstanding
results during their MSc studies and who have demonstrated excellence and potential in their
field of study, to apply for a PhD scholarship in the Research Group Risk Assessment of
Chemicals and Nanomaterials at DTU Environment, which consists of 3 professors, 2
associate professors, 4 Post Docs and 7 PhD students. We do research within environmental
chemistry, environmental toxicology and environmental risk assessment of chemicals and
nanomaterials.
The PhD student will be part of a research team working with characterization, ecotoxicity,
bioaccumulation and risk assessment of nano- and micro-sized particles. We have extensive
collaboration with academic and industrial partners worldwide. For more information about

Studies of the influence of exposure conditions on uptake and effects of nano- and
micro-particles in aquatic organisms
Particle characterization to determine particle size distributions and chemical
composition in experimental media
Experimental work will be done in close collaboration with EPFL as well as relevant
national and international partners.
