Queens for the King

September 2016 Newsletter

A September to Remember
September was a busy but productive month in ministry.
We got some speaking engagements to proclaim God's
goodness. The children at Sibongumbomvu are starting to
learn Scripture verses at fun club. The grade 4 and 6 kids
are growing in their biblical knowledge weekly.
Sweetwaters students are leading the way on home visits
and during fun club. Elizabeth is loving being the dorm
chaplain and is posting good marks at Lee. Jacob excelled in
the classroom and in his high school water polo matches.
Come see how the Lord is good and faithful just as He
promised.

Church Camp speaking

Thomas and I got the opportunity
to share about God's faithfulness to
us when he called us to the mission
field in S Africa at Hilton Baptist's
family church camp this month. We
enjoyed retelling the details of our
call and how God guided us and
went before us every step of the
way. Thomas will be preaching in
the morning service at Hilton
Baptist Oct 4th (this Sunday).
Please pray for him to boldly speak
the message God desires for his
people to hear.

Knowledge is Power
Every Wednesday we are energizing the ladies of Hilton Baptist to go to
Sibongumbomvu to work with the grade 4 children. Each child gets a math lesson &
additional reading assistance. Between the two lessons, a Bible lesson is taught.
Many kids are hearing about God for the first time. Ex. After I taught on the
Wise Men to the grade 6 class, I asked the kids if they had heard that story
before. The entire class of 25 kids said they had never heard that bible story
before. We are so thankful to God for the opportunity for these kids to hear
about Jesus Christ.

Studying the Word in

Shiyabazali
House visits continue to go well. We are
studying the New Testament from beginning
to end now. This month we read about Christ's
birth and baptism. The people had many
questions about baptism. Its great to see the
people attempting to read the kid's bibles on
their own now rather than follow along only.
Pray for the people to be encouraged each
week that the Lord is faithful to help them and
mighty to save.

Sweetwaters Young Leaders

The Sweetwaters Bible study
students are such a joy! These
young Christians faithfully come to
study the book of Judges each
Tuesday. They then go with us into
Shiya's on house visits and are
teaching the New Testament
truths to the patients. They also
are teaching the kids at Sibong. to
memorize their bible verse with
songs they create as well as hand
motions. The kids at fun club love
them as much as we do.

Memory Verses
Its such a joy to watch the kids work on their memory verses each week. They are
so creative to make up a song to help learn the verse. We send a slip of paper home
with them each week that contains their verse in Zulu and English. During their
recess time, the teachers are telling us that the children "play church" now. They
pretend to have a church service with a sermon and choir performance. It
wonderful to see them desire to put God's Word into their hearts & recreate a
church family at school.
