encouragement throughout the contents of this project. Her all mentoring helped us a lot in
the exposure to the real world and meeting with the real world business people. This all help
and guidance given by her time to time shall carry us a long way in the journey of life on
which we are about to embark. We also thank our lecturer of POM for guidance and
encouragement in finishing this project and for also teaching us this course.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:In this report it has been discussed that the Crown colour coatings Lahore Pakistan whose
products are known as value paints . The history of Crown colour of coating incorporated
year, the founding year, the manufacturing facility in Lahore Pakistan is also available.
Delivery to its end customers through many authorized outlet across Lahore.
The main element of any organization which is its vision is also written in this report
of Crown colour coatings Lahore Pakistan. The mission of this company to achieve their
targets is provide good quality paints to customer with reasonable price which becomes a
value creation line.
In the end of report it of determined that there is a evaluating and controlling team is also
available in company to maintain the whole situations of company.

Introduction:

Value Paints Limited is one of Paint Manufacturing organizations. Formed in 1999, the
foremost objective of the company is to introduce modern paint technology. The company is
located in Kanha Lahore Pakistan, there are highly qualified personnel who shaped the
company into by virtue of their qualification and innovation. Value Paints R&D department
remains in pursuit of innovating and applying the modern technology in decorative paints.

MISSION AND VISION


Value Paints aims to achieve long term relationships with internal and external customers.
Vision is to become a global brand spreading over continents all over the globe. Our aim is
thrive to satisfy our customers to their most specific needs and requirements and also deliver
products with both quality and technicality advantage over other products in the market.
It is through continuously efforts that build upon relationships with both customers and
dealers. Client and dealer relationship is also one of the primary objectives, ensuring
confidence and satisfaction. We pride ourselves on continuous direct customer
communications to understand their changing need for new product development. Our goal is
total customer satisfaction through understanding our customers current and future
requirements and emphasizing quality and services.

DEPARTMENT:Our targeted area is conversion process of paints.

OBJECTIVES OF REPORT:-

This report helps to identify the production system of paint.

OUTLINE:This report cover the conversion process of paint how it forms, what kind of pigments,
chemicals, machinery and resources are used.

The following are the company desired outcomes:


To provide the customer with the highest quality paint, at lowest possible cost.
It gives the company flexibility to respond to the market, achieve profit through cost
reduction activities and long-term prosperity.
Companys Aim:
Produce high quality paints.
Decrease the cost.
Decrease the lead time.

CONVERSION PROCESS OF PAINTS

Step 1 Raw material (resin and pigments and additive agent major components of paints )

Step 2 Mixing (pigment and resin and components mixed )

Step 3 Milling (pigments, resin sent to dispenser to disperser particles)

Step 4 Blending (in this step we added the colour)

Step 5 Filtering (blended and toned paints is filtrated)

Step 6 Packing (packed into drum and etc)

Step 7 Shipment /logistics

These are seven steps used in the preparation of the paints and basically this concept is
implemented in facility layout like arrangement of machine which is used in paints
production.

Layout is the arrangement of machinery which is used in the organization. In this company
named as Crown colour of coatings product as value paints have good layout design to

remove the bottleneck and reduce the accident while manufacturing the product layout is
designed only one time and it is not easy to change. Layout draws to minimize the cost and
maximize the production. When company designs the layout it keeps on mind the govt rules
and regulation like environmental policy raw material space and the inventory storage .

Basic layout types


According to value paints they design a proper layout and arrangement of machine which is
used in production. We have different picture in which you see the proper layout of crown
colour of coatings .Product layout describes the steps of making of one product.

Process layout
Process layout determine the departments of the company how many department works on
the company they are coordinating each other because in the modern business the inputs of
one department is output of the other department. The concepts of division of labour Process
layout defined that each department is each according to their tasks and standard
performance. In this company which my group and me visited have no concept of process
layout because it is small scale production unit and the people who established the company
have no degree according to business studies.

Fixed position layout


Fixed position layout means that raw material brings for the heavy machinery and converts
the raw material into specific or desirable product. In the crown color of coatings we applied
this concept because in this company every machinery is fixed and raw material comes from
machines and then converts into desire goods.

It is basically the way in which goods or services are made or delivered, which
influences numerous aspects of an organization.

Product and Service Design


Value Paints makes different colors of paints which are unique in nature. New colors
scheming are display in catalogues when customers come to display center they select the
colors from catalogues. The company also provides the services of their painters on demand
of the customer.

Technology plays a vital role for the success of any business. As there is tough
competition in market the company tries to have

latest equipments to increase their

production and also to up-to-date itself in market.


Capacity Planning
The maximum amount of work that an organization is capable of completing in a
given period due to constraints such as quality problems, delays, material handling, etc

Facilities and Equipment


Company uses latest machinery and equipments for their production. Value paints
forms a very dynamic team of marketing and production personnel. Now the consumers will
not hesitate to accept Value Paints as the symbol of full satisfaction.

JUST IN TIME (JIT)


The Just in Time Methodology refers to making the inventory available only at the
time of need. The company tries to make the availability of products in the time of
need.

Value paints should increase their product quality as they are facing the quality complaints
from their potential customers. They also have a need to improve their marketing strategies to
capture the market to establish its name and also to improve their sales. The company should
hire the engineer because competition is based on yours qualified employee also hire the
business administrator and IT qualified person if they wants to capture the markets. The
company should hire the marketing manger and make the market plan for the success of their
product.
