from10:00a.m.12:00p.m.AllchildrenparticipatinginCTWwillreceiveapartinHSM.

OurrehearsalswillbeeachSaturday(unlessotherwisenoted)fromSeptember10,2016until
ourshowweekend,FridayandSaturday,November11and12.2016.

PleasefillintheAuditionFormcompletelyandturninonCTWauditionday.Therearevarious
sectionsofinformationthatarenecessaryforasuccessfulproductionandforusto
communicatewithyou.WewillneedacopyoftheattachedMedicalReleaseFormunlessyou
havealreadyprovidedacopyforpastCTWshowsorSPCTsummercamps.

Weunderstanda12weekrehearsalperiodisalongtime,especiallyforfamilies!Ifyourchild
hastomissarehearsal,orleaveearly,thisisnotaproblemjustletusknowbeforehandand
wewillmaketheneededadjustments.Ifyourchildwillbeleavingwithsomebodyelse(i.e.a
friendsparent,anotherfamilyatcamp,oranotherrelative)onthedayofarehearsal,please
makeanotationonthesigninsheet.

ACharacterPlotisincludedinthispacket.Thiswillgiveyouanoverviewoftheshow,aswellas
alistofcharactersandmusicalnumbers.Therearerolesforeveryoneinamusical,soplease
readthiscarefully,asitwillhelpselectingaroleforthemtoauditionfor,aswellaspreparing
themfortheiraudition.

Pleasemakesuretosendyourstudenttoclasswithclosedtoedshoes,water,apencil,
andtheirscript.Wewillbemovingquiteabitineachclassandtheyneedtobeableto
feelcomfortable.Also,pleaseremembertomakesurethestudentsaredressed

AuditionExpectations

Whenyoucometotheaudition,youwillenterthetheatreLobbyandsignyourchildinforthe
day.Ourstaffwillbetheretoansweranyquestions.Onceyouhavesignedyourchildyouare
freetogo.Onceeverybodyistherewewillmakeourwaytotheauditorium,doaquickwarmup,
andbeginauditions!

StudentsauditioningfortheCHORUSThesestudentswillbesinginginagroup.Weneedto
heareverybodysing,whetheritsbythemselvesorinagroup.TheywillsingRow,Row,Row
YourBoat,HappyBirthday,orsomethingalongthoselines.Wewantthistobeapositive
experienceforeveryoneandweunderstandstagefrightwewillmakesuretomakeeveryone
comfortable!StudentsareNOTrequiredtosing,butinordertobeconsideredforarole,they
mustbeabletosingforusatauditions.

StudentsauditioningforaSPECIFICROLEThesestudentswillneedtosingasongoftheir
choice.Asongfromtheshowisacceptable,butwewouldpreferasongthatisnotfromthe
show,asongthatshowsoffyourvoice.Vocalauditionsareclosedonlytwoorthreestudents
willbebroughtintothetheatretosingformyselfandLesliePavluk,ourmusicdirector.
Acting/Readingauditionswillbeinthetheatre.Wewillbeusingthesidesthatareattachedto
thisemailforauditions.Memorizationisnotnecessary,butcharacterizationisencouraged!

NOTEFORALLAUDITIONERS:Auditionswillbeheld,liketheyareforourSummerCamps.
Wewillhavereadingandvocalauditionsinthetheatrewithoneortwootherstudentsand

auditions.Thecreativeteam(director,assistantdirector,musicdirector,andchoreographers)
willmeettodiscusscastingandsendouttheannouncementsassoonaspossible.Please

SkaterDudesfindtheircliques,recounttheirvacations,andlookforwardtothenew
year.Basketballteamcaptainandresidentjock,Troy,discoversthatthebrainy
Gabriella,agirlhemetsingingkaraokeonhisskitrip,hasjustenrolledatEastHigh.
Theycauseanupheavalwhentheydecidetoauditionforthehighschoolmusical,led
byMs.Darbus.Althoughmanystudentsresentthethreatposedtothe"statusquo,"
TroyandGabriella'salliancemightjustopenthedoorforotherstoshineaswell.

TroyBoltonCaptainoftheBasketballteam,themostpopularkidatEastHigh,
thestarofthebasketballteamwhoyearnstobemorethanwhatpeoplewant
himtobe.Troydiscovershelovestosing,butisafraidtoadmitittohis
friends.
ChadDanforthisahotwiredjock,secondincommandtoTroy.Heisfocused
onwinninghisschool'sbasketballchampionship,butisslowlyunderstandingthat
theremightbemoretothisworld,includinghissparringcrushonTaylor.
