What Were Learning

This week in reading we are focusing on the plot of a story and how to summarize the
important events of a story we read. We will still practice identifying the subject and
predicate of a complete sentence and have began learning about imperative and
exclamatory sentences. In writing we are working on a rough draft, peer editing skills and
publishing. In math we will be working on different ways to decompose a number by place
value, skip counting by 2s, 3s, 5s, and 10s between 100-1000, and comparing two and
three-digit numbers. In social studies we have been researching a portion of our government
unit (the 3 branches of the government, the constitution, and what it means to be a good
citizen) and in Technology will be preparing content for our poster projects to present next
Tuesday. In science weve been discussing what it means to be an inventor, the design
process and learning about matter and properties of change in preparation to create
something that will keep popsicles from melting over a period of time.
