Talk Time 2016-17

Welcome back to school!! My name is Mrs. Ana Richards, Speech/Language

Therapist, and I will be working in the PAL classroom with Mrs. Zambrano, Mrs. Rico
and Miss Curiel.
I have been a speech/language therapist for the past 25 years and I have been
teaching at El Dorado for the past 17 years. I am looking forward to working with
the students and teachers to help develop communication skills within the natural,
classroom environment.
This month, while working on functional and play skills within the classroom, the
focus will be on attending and listening to a speaker, following directions and using
gestures, sounds and/or words to express wants and needs. If your child is already
using words, they will work on expanding their utterances and producing sounds
clearly within their words and sentences.
In the months to come, we will focus on developing speech (sounds) and language
(vocabulary; sentences) skills related to the area of study as well as during
everyday classroom activities, routines and play.
I am in the classroom on Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Thursdays at the
dismissal gate, I am available to answer any speech/language questions you may
have about your child or give you additional ideas to use at home. Please feel free
to come up and introduce yourself I am getting to know your child and would like
the opportunity to meet you too!!
Please feel free to contact me at any time:
