1_ Most brands use tough, water-shedding fabric,

but many are harsh - shredding clothing/skin. Our
genuine Cordura is all that but with a soft-touch.
2_ Dont give away your position by jangling
your zipper pullers. Ours are silent, easy to
pull with gloves on, and are field-serviceable.

3_ Professional/tactical gear has lots of webbing,

so its strength is critical. All of ours are sewn on
with zig-zag-like stitch-blocks called bar-tacking.
These will not unwind like straight-line stitching.
4_ High wear-and-tear areas on bags deserve
to be protected more. So we not only use polymer panels on bag-bottoms, but also anywhere
else that may get scratched and scuffed.

5_ Cutting out a space and sewing in a velcro

panel or webbing from behind reduces weight,
and the insert wont fray or easily peel out with use.
6_ Embroidered tags can get dirty & fray over time.
Our main external tags are washable 3-d rubber.
7_ Critical joints sewn without reinforcement,
or with a weak stitch-line can fail. We use boxtacks that can be quality-checked and last long.

These are special editions intended
for the everyday-user as opposed to
professional/technical customers. Civilian branded products have many
of the same mil-spec features found
on Hazard4 products but are offered
in more street-friendly materials and
are streamlined to eliminate features
which a civilian customer would find
too cumbersome or expensive for
their day-to-day use.
As with Hazard4 products, Civilian
branded offerings are of high-standard construction and material, but
their aesthetics, colors, and hardware are specially selected for the
sport and/or urban market. So for example, where a Hazard4 laptop bag
may be constructed with expensive
but tough Cordura fabric, a Civilian computer bag might be instead
made with a smooth, comfortableto-touch, dobby-nylon, or a high
quality pebbled leather.
Some Civilian products are direct alternative versions of Hazard4 models
while others are unique items which
are specifically designed for only the
Civilian line. Our customers are encouraged to consider both brands,
then decide which user group they
feel they best fall under and which
set of features appeals to their needs.
This civilian/professional product relationship is so important to our philosophy that our corporate name Civilian Lab was based on it. The lab

1. Locking Zipper-Sliders_ Some of

our 2012 collection will feature YKK
locking-capable zipper-sliders which
will be included on pockets/openings that are particularly prone to frequently needing higher security. This
is especially important to individuals
who require locking containment
for firearms in their jurisdiction or in
one they may be travelling to. Many
of our bags also have stiff polymer
marking-tubes on some zipper pulls to
distinguish the main zipper by touch.
2. Roll-up Strap Adjustment_ Most of
our new 2012 packs and bags which
feature a shoulder strap that needs
frequent length-adjustment now
have a set of velcro straps at the
end which allow the excess strap to
be rolled up instead of using more
complicated clip-managers. This system also means that the buckle strap
lock cant slip inadvertently. The bags
with this feature will still have a large
polymer D-ring at the end of the strap
which now travels along with the
rolled excess.

3. Diving-Belt Webbing_ In keeping

with our philosophy of using unusual
and innovative materials, we are
now integrating high-friction divingbelt webbing for most shoulder strap
applications. They look rugged, feel
smooth, and most importantly will not
allow buckle-slip; This keeps your strap
at its desired length all day long. Their
stiffness also means that when stabilizer straps are attached they will not
be crushed, thus staying flatter across
the chest or rib cage.
4. Cross-strapping Capability_ The
packs which feature compression
straps, such as the Evac Plan-B series, now have reversed male/female
buckle-mating allowing them to not
only be linear configured compression-straps on the pack-sides but to
reach over the packs back and clip
to their opposite members. They can
also cross over the back/sides in an
x-configuration so users can attach
larger objects to the packs back or
side-walls (see sidewall x in photo.)

A true messenger, this bag stays flat when carrying loads like a laptop, but clever construction
allows it to square-out and accept bulky boxes,
etc. The similarities to its conventional rivals end
there; Its tactical/professional features make it a
real work-bag. The shoulder strap is sewn directy
to the sides with box-tacks so there is no hardware to break under heavy weight. The strap has
a comfortable pad with modular (MOLLE) loops
for attaching pouches etc. and a quick-release
buckle with lock for emergency drops. The webbing is a class-leading diving-belt. The front surface under the flap is covered in modular MOLLE
webbing to load-out numerous pouches/etc.,
but keep them hidden/protected under the unassuming flap. The flap-straps compress bulk with

consulted on the go. The interior area behind

pannel for all the pens, flash-drives, knives etc.

civilian ventrapack _low profile chest-rig

This is a new for 2012 diagonal-pack-type messenger-bag version of our popular new Defense
Courier bag (see previous page.) The feature-set is almost identical, but this bag has a thick,
air-mesh backed strap with a modular MOLLE front so it can be worn more like a pack. This
makes is very comfortable for long excursions with heavy loads and it can still be rotated to a
sid-bag or chest-pack orientation for quick access to gear. It can also be outfitted with a stabilizer strap, and the main opening is modified to help retain contents in a sideways orientation.

Being jammed in confined spaces for hours
is an unfortunate part of life for many of the
users we serve. Whether its a military unit in
an a.p.c., a pilot in a cockpit, or a journalist
in the back of a goat truck, they all have
to bring their gear. And they all may need
to relocate in a hurry. These are the environments for which our Evac line of packs
has been geared. They are slim shaped for
easily manoeuvring in crowds, or storage in
vehicles/lockers, and are quick to take on
or off. They are ambidextrous, and unlike
others in this class, are actually comfortable on your shoulder - Attach the main
strap at either the right or left lower corner
and the padded section realigns itself ergonomically in the correct body-hugging
direction. The bag can be rotated to the
chest for on-the-go access, and all pockets are designed to face the user in this

what are modular patches?

Modular patches are insignia, military designations, fun slogans, cartoon characters etc. that have a hook-side velcro backing sewn on. They are used in conjunction with areas of loop-side velcro designed strategically into our various packs,
bags, and apparel. They also attach to other select uniforms and packs made
specifically for military applications.

They can make an otherwise unassuming piece of gear instantly customized to

identify its owner, express an opinion, or just dress up gear with a cool graphic. In
situations where many pieces of gear may be alike, such as a military unit grouping its packs in camp, a scrum of journalists bedding in abroad, or at your airport
luggage carousel, a modular patch will distinguish your bag.

why are our patches special?

Hazard 4 did not invent modular patches; They have been in limited use with
military forces (primarily u.s. airforce, then ground forces) since the 1980s. They
make it easier to use shared equipment by various individuals or units. What
makes Hazard4 modular patches unique is 3-d polymer moulding. Our patches are made with tiny injection moulds while most patches are traditional embroidered thread. This makes our product able to render even the tiniest details
crisply. They are also professional in appearance, and reflect the new modernized military aesthetic. They can be washed and do not get fuzzy or frayed. We
are also the only company in the industry to offer a glow-in-the-dark patch option. With a micro-texture guilloche background pattern defining areas without bright color, they render especially well designs in subdued-military colors.
We are also able to produce patches by request for a national flag design if
minimum quantity is met; We invite distributors to ask us about this option.

The wise front-line soldiers practice of marking ones blood-group on the boot-heel (typically with
duct-tape and marker,) inspired this Hazard 4 exclusive blood-type plaque. The 3-d moulded
rubber is far more durable than the traditional solution and cannot be wiped off, scratched-off,
or dissolved. A more professional choice for a unit or individual in its appearance, it more importantly prevents mis-reading. The design allows multiple fast-mounting methods. Weave them into
boot laces, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally (slotted holes allow for different lace-hole
spacings.) Wear them like/with i.d. medallions around the neck. Use paracord to make them into
a bracelet. Sew them onto clothing/gear or velcro backing using the perimiter trench. Or clip them
anywhere since they are sold in sets of 2 with an aluminum carabiner. They come in a variety of subdued colors and feature a raised guioche pattern in the background to break up mud/ice. Then
can even be screwed, riveted, grommeted, or nailed onto hard surfaces such as plastic cases
or crates to mark personal gear or paramedics blood supply. Specify blood-type when buying.
