cultural value of the region.

maintaining the symmetry as the main

THE SITE DESIGN LAWN II

Key Features:
The divisions of the site are made
in a way that, the basic concept of
SIr Edwig Lutyens is followed.
Therefore, the divisions are made
in radial format, at angles of 60
degrees and 30 degrees,
maintaining Sir Lutyens style of
planning.
The Site is divided into 8 parts,
out of which two smaller regions
are dedicated to parking space, for
the visitors coming to the
memorial service performed in
the area.

THE GARDENS(LAWN II)

Key Features:
The further parts divided in the gardens are transformed into French Garden style of
planning.
The French garden style of planning not only enhances the beauty of the whole space,
but also helps in maintaining international standards of the space, as the area is
frequently visited by foreign tourists and delegates.
As the area surrounding the India Gate is very often aerially photographed, this garden
style enhances the view and gives the area an entirely different and unique definition.
The gardens can further be enhanced by the use of different kinds of Aromatic
vegetation, thus satisfying the space with different kinds of soothing aromas, thereby
creating a calm, enigmatic and peaceful surrounding.

The garden, after being converted into a French garden style, somewhat has a shape
and outline similar to that of an engraved Shield, thus metaphorically depicting the fact
that the War Martyrs protect our country like a shield.
