AsimilarplatformexpectedtobedemonstratedaroundthattimeistheX51WaveRider,
developedbyBoeing.ThisvehiclewilldemonstratecapabilitiessimilartotheFALCON,
asBoeingaimstocompetewithLockheedMartintofulfillthefutureUSAFrequirement
forglobalstrikewiththehypersonicatmosphericvehicles.ThewaveRiderwillintegratea
scramjetenginedevelopedbyPratt&Whitney,aboostrocketmotorderivedfroman
ATACMSmissilematchedwithanairframebuiltbyBoeing.Itwilldemonstrate
accelerationfromboost(Mach4.5+)toMach67cruise.
