variety of shapes too. There are even chocolates in shapes of turtles. Have you ever
wondered how a bar of chocolate is made?
Cocoa trees grow well in countries with hot climate. There are many cocoa
plantations in Malaysia. First of all, the cocoa farmers harvest the ripe cocoa fruits. The
cocoa pods are cut to remove the beans. The beans are then placed in a container until
they turn brown.
The brown beans are then dried under the sun. After that, they are packed into
sacks. They are sold to factories. The cocoa beans are then ground into paste. Sugar, milk
powder and cocoa butter are added.
The mixture is then processed in a machine called conche. The chocolate
mixture becomes very fine. It is then poured into moulds. Finally, the chocolate bars are
checked and then wrapped.
