TRAINING PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Part A:Basic Screen Reading of SpiderIrisplus:The objective of this training is to ensure that the executive knows the basics and
explain the basic screen to anyone.

Why to Download Daily and Intraday Files?

Downloading of daily and Intraday files is most important to keep the software updated with the latest data.
Daily Files
- Daily files contains the Official Closing of the Market (derived at Post closing session).
- The Next days %change of any scrip is compared using the previous days Daily Closing.
- If the Daily file is not updated the %change figures in Intraday will not be correct, hence it is important to download the
previous daily files regularly before connecting to the live market.
- Daily file is uploaded on the server normally between 5.30pm 6.00pm. Delays are possible during such delays beyond the
usual time a txt file with msg is uploaded on server informing that the daily file is delayed. (As it comes after office hours this
message helps in informing the clients about the delay).
- Daily File name mmddDly.zip Contains N (nse), B (Bse), F (Futures), O (Options) , D (Derivatives).
CA (Corporate Action), MB (Market Breadth ADS), LicSpider (License file),
NseNifty.csv (Index Contribution info).
mmddCurrency.zip
mmddCommodity.zip
WorldMarket.zip

Note : When we want to send different contents like a new exe to specific products only we name the daily files with a Prefix
so that it can be seen only to the product downloading the daily file.
IN_mmdddly.zip Irisnse, IB (IrisBse), IC (IrisCtcl) , AC (Ace).
Please Note: For clients using internet in another machine we do not give them the link to our downloads. So they have to put
the userinfo.txt file in that different PC daily and Copy and extract the files into the Drive.
Intraday Files

During the live market when you connect to the Spider Servers the live data intraday file (D4) gets automatically
saved in your PC, so the user does not have to connect to Internet to see the Intraday data after the market is over.
Once the current Intraday is completed and you connect for the next day, The previous days D4 file gets
compressed to D5 file. The D5 file is smaller in size and compressed by removing unwanted information of
previous day, which helps you to more intraday history faster.
The past Intraday files are also saved (as D5) in your hard disk.
What to download ?
For NSE live data - ND4 (mmddIntNse.zip) and for ND5 (mmddInt5Nse.zip)
For Derivative live data - DD4 (mmddIntNFo.zip ) and for DD5 (mmddInt5NFO.zip)
For BSE live data - BD4 (mmddIntBse.zip) and for BD5 (mmddInt5Bse.zip)
On the server the Current days xxxxInt.zip are also replaced by the xxxxInt5.zip
If the client has connected to the live markets then he will not be able to see the Int.zip files on the server as he
already has the data and he does not have to download again.

Explaining the Intraday connection box

Intra Day History "N" Days: Here the user has to specify how many days of past Intra Day history Data to be loaded. This has
to be specified before the user clicks on Connect check box. The number of D5 files loaded will increase the memory usage of
the system.
If (1 days ND5 file = 10 MB) X ( 30 Days history loaded ) = 300 MB of Ram used.

You have to ensure that there is sufficient Ram left for the O/S and other applications to run so that your system does not get
hung.
For smoother performance Live users to make sure that in Display settings of windows.
1. Screen Saver is kept as None.
2. Turn off Hard Disk is kept as Never.

Data From [Open] or [Current]: If Open is selected, you will start receiving data from the beginning of the Market or from the
time the user has stopped during current live market. If Current is selected the data will start from the current time (In current
viewing charts should be avoided as it can show errors).

Server: After connecting to the Internet, select any of the servers One, Two, Three to get data.

Connect: When you click on Connect the Intraday History files are loaded first and then the Current day's data is loaded. The
window automatically closes when the files have been loaded and the connection gets established. Please note you can
connect for live data only during trading days from ( 9:15 am to 3:30 pm ).
In case you miss the live market the Intraday files (****INT.zip) will be on server in download files list.

Use Proxy Server : Enable if connecting through proxy.

Server IP : " Enter Server IP "
Port (Socks5) : "Enter Socks5 port number" (usually 1080)
(Please check with your System Administrator for Proxy IP and the correct SOCKS port)

Data Ports used (also to be allowed in your Firewall settings)

IRIS BSE = Uses port 3000 ( for inbound and outbound)
IRIS NSE = Uses port 4000 (for inbound and outbound)
IRIS Plus = Uses port 4999 (for inbound and outbound)

Understanding line,bar and Candle chart

Importance of Volume chart

Volume is simply the number of shares or contracts that trade over a given period of time, usually a day. The higher the
volume, the more active the security.
Volume is an important aspect of technical analysis because it is used to confirm trends and chart patterns. Any price
movement up or down with relatively high volume is seen as a stronger, more relevant move than a similar move with weak
volume. Therefore, if you are looking at a large price movement, you should also examine the volume.

Changing from one exchange to other (BSE to NSE,CTRL W)

Pressing CTRL + W will help in...
- Comparing Rates in both exchnages.
- In case of spikes in Highs and Lows charts can be compared in other exchange.
- Since Bse has more historical data you can check the longer term Highs and Lows and the patterns formed in Bse before
trading in Nse.
- Useful for analysis of gaps, Volumes and such other minor difference in both exchanges.

Understanding the Top screen terms like ADS,Turnover,Newhigh/low etc

Understanding Bid offer figures on an intraday chart

RED Bid - The bid price is the price at which you can SELL the shares
OFFER Offer - The offer price is the price at which you can BUY them.
Bid (Red) will always lower than the Offer (Green).
If Red = 0.00 then it indicates Buyers Only (no sellers) I.e Upper Circuit.
If Green = 0.00 then it indicates Sellers Only (no buyers) I.e Lower Circuit.

Understanding the Green, red and white line on the Intraday charts

The INTRADAY TRADERS are dependent on the Information displayed on the Bolt Terminal for numerical information. Since
the information is limited to Current day only the Traders See only the Previous Days , High , Low and Close and the current
Avg Traded price of today.
Majority of the traders use the Previous days levels to trade on the current market.
Hence a sharp reaction is expected at Previous days figures. In IRIS it is represented as..
Green Previous days High
Red Previous days Low.
White Previous days Close.

CTRL G (Automated support resistance lines)

Based on Wilders theory, this feature is the most simplest yet the most powerful feature of the software. By pressing
"CTRL+G" on the intraday chart you can automatically see trading levels on the screen. By trading levels we mean important
levels at which the prices will start reacting in the market.

END OF PART A

Part B:Live and End of Day Features:The objective is to ensure that the executives are aware of the USP features. Good for
Marketing and Support Executives for demos and retention respectively.

Tick Query
The most unique and important feature for all types of Intraday Traders. The Tick Query keeps a continuious watch on the
market tracking all the major Buying and Selling in the stock market. All trades of high volume are automatically tracked to
show you which stocks are being bought and sold the most. Using the Tick Query you can easily identify which stocks are
attracting the traders interest today.
How to use the Tick Query ?
IRIS classifies each trade as a Buy and Sell. You might already be thinking that if there is a buyer then there is also a seller at
that price. But IRIS uses a formula (based on Bid/Offer) to identify who is more aggressive in the trade the Buyer or the Seller.

Using the Quantity and the Value filters Tick Query can track every single trade for all the stocks. The Tick Query will help you
track every Buy and Sell trade with heavy volume. This can be done for All Scrips or for a specific Group.
It is important to note that these are trades of very high volumes. Meaning , these are trades done by big brokers, institutions
and other high networth players in the market. Also you can easily identify bullish and bearish tendencies of the market.

Your trading strategy should be now very simple.

" Follow the Market Trend " - When everyone is buying - Buy. and when everyone is selling - Sell
This feature one of the most popular and profitable for all intraday traders.
Now you can open 4 Tick Query to check various groups.
You can even protect the conditions to avoid it being disclosed from others.

Market Summary (F8)

The user can get a report of the Top Traded, Best , Worst and 52 week New Highs or New Lows Scrips for the day. The
shortcut key is F8

Intraday Tick List (F9)

You can keep a watch every trade detail of a specific stock. Press F9 to enable this feature

Event Selector
The market reacts sharply at certain price and volume events. The Event Selector has a list of such important price and
volume events.
You can select the events that you feel important and automatically keep tracking it live during the market. Most common and
popular events being..
BULLISH > High of Day
BEARISH > Low of Day.
Pivots are also included in Event Tracker.
You can now have 4 Event Tracker running simultaneously.

Volume distribution Graph (F11)

You can easily see the prices at which the maximum trading took place during the day. This will give you a good idea of the
support and Resistance levels for the day.

Graphical Volume distribution graph (Shift+ F12) - Get a graphical display of Volume Distribution

Group Analysis
Analyze which groups are leading today. This compares the current Intraday close with previous days Closing prices (live
feature only). This can be used to know which groups are moving positively or negatively today.

Market Query
Now you can use 4 Market Query.
Market Query is a very powerful tool used to scan and short-list important stocks during the live market. Use the various Filter
conditions to scan through the market to find the stocks which match your criteria.

In Conditions the user can enter his own set of criteria for additional filter options.
Example
:open = :low
(i.e todays open is same as todays low, indicating signs of bullishness.)
The user also has an option of saving the results to a Group

1. Increased number of columns to display more values. (eg. Pivot values can all be now seen in the list)
2. Auto-Update feature automatically runs the same query again after a minimum period of 10min.

Default = 0 (means auto-update disable)

Time period for auto-update is minimum 10 minutes.

Intraday and Daily Comparative Charts

Compare the performance of scrips.
Daily Comparative Charts can compare 2 or more scrips and give you a result of which stock has performed better. Selecting
a Group will tell you which scrip in the group are doing better.
Intraday comparative Charts compares performance of scrips in the current intraday

Setting Alerts and the Alert Box

Using the Alert option you can automatically receive a warning signal when the stocks price reaches your stop-loss or target
levels during the live market. You can specify price alerts for any number of Scrips. Pressing CTRL+J will display the alert
window. All information about the scrip will be automatically seen in this window and will help in creating alerts faster.

Use of Pivot Calculator in Intraday Charts

You can also use it to calculate hourly pivots based on previous hour.

Index Pullers and Draggers

Helps to identify which scrips have dragged or pulled the market today. This is very useful to track trending scrips in the Index
group.

Strategy Testing
For Details Refer to Help button in Strategy Testing.
- CURRENTLY STRATEGY TESTING WILL CHECK DAILY CHART/PERIOD Only.
Strategy Testing System is divided into 3 parts.
1. Creating the Strategy and Testing it on a group of scrips.
2. Study Optimization - Optimizing every Study Parameter for maximum profit.

3. Portfolio Optimization - See your strategy perform in real life situation.

1. Creating the Strategy and Testing it on a group of scrips.
- Create conditions
- Classify as Long ENTRY, Long EXIT, Short ENTRY and Short EXIT.
- Enter Starting Equity (eg. Rs.1,00,000)
- Select Test (From Date) and (To Date)
- Entry / Exit Rate = Days Close or Next Days Open.
- Entry / Exit Slippage % (is the logical variation on entry, can also include brokerage)
- After Slippage Rate should be within Days High-Low range. (Disable if you are
thinking of using brokerage as this allows the prices to go above
the high of day or below low of day.
- Entry Stop % - Stop loss percentage
- Profit Stop % - Maximum Profit Targeted.
- Use Trailing Stop Loss Yes then,
Initiate Trailing stop loss at x% - Minimum Profit after which Trailing stop can start.
Trailing Stop After Minimum Profit is achieved % of Stop loss to be maintained.
Test on smaller groups first.
2. Study Optimization - Optimizing every Study Parameter for maximum profit.
- Once Strategy is Run
- To Optimize it further
- Select the Study. Then select the parameter to optimize.
- Give values range.
- Select a Scrip to optimize it further on.
- Press Run.
- Once Run check which parameter is giving best returns.
- Double click on the parameter and it will update automatically in STUDIES Tab
the selected parameters.
3. Portfolio Optimization - See your strategy perform in real life situation.
- Once a Study is optimized. Use select a group and see how it will work in Real life.

- The buy will be generated and the amount will be taken out and stock will be taken in
the portfolio.
- Stocks will keep adding and getting sold as per the price movement till the

Derivative Analysis (with all the Live Derivative features)

What is Forward contract ?
- The concept of buying Gold in advance at pre decided date and price.
Standardization of Futures Market through regulators.
- For Equity , Commodity as forward contracts were not controlled.
Understanding Futures Contract
- benefit of buying a Future over a stock is that you pay only a Margin and not the entire amount of the value of the qty
purchased.
- Then why not use the Margin in Intraday and trade in Equity ?. Future is a extended Intraday.
- Near , Next and Far month contracts. Trading in all contracts are possible.
- Near month contracts are most liquid as more speculation happens in short term. As soon as near month nears expiry the
Next months contracts are traded more and Near month become less liquid.
- Rollover in Future indicates that once the Near month is nearing expiry you tend to close the position in Near month and
enter the Next months Contract.
Understanding Volume v/s Open interest (Reports > Derivative Summary Report)
(Reports > Derivative Open Interest Report)
Both these terms viz. 'Volume' and 'Open interest' are applicable to both futures as well as options.

Volume/Qty = No. of shares transacted over a period(ex: day).

If trader A sells 1 share to trader B, the volume is recorded as 1. If Trader B sells his 1 share to trader C, then the volume
count increments to 2.

Open interest = No. of outstanding contracts for a particular contract(Future/option, strike price, expiry, underlying)
If trader A sell an option contract to trader B, then volume is recorded as 1(explained above) and Open Interest increases to
1. If trader B sells his option to trader C, the volume increments to 2 but Open Interest remains at 1.

Open interest changes only when positions are added/closed, irrespective of the no. of trades.
However, volume increases irrespective of change of open interest as and when the contract is traded.
Strategies with Open Interest
1. Rising Open Interest and Rising Prices. - Bullish Indication
Interpretation: Gives the Indication that At higher prices more Positions are being built up. This shows a bullish tendency in
the market hence, there is a higher Probability that the Prices will go up in Near future. But it should be noted that this is a
probability and not a 100% indication of the prices moving upward in future.
It should be noted that OI Rising or Falling will also depend on Contracts Expiry dates. Hence the strategies used with OI and
Prices are not absolute buy / sell indicators. More analysis is required before actually taking a position.
2. Falling Open Interest and Falling Prices Reversal indication
3. Rising Open Interest and Falling Prices Bearish Indication.
4. Falling Open Interest and Rising Prices Reversal Indication.
Term COST OF CARRY : ( seen In Futures) (Reports > Derivative Summary Report)
The cost of carry is the cost of "carrying" or holding a position. The cost of carry generally refers to the risk-free interest rate
that could be earned by investing currency in a theoretically safe investment
The Futures Price = Spot Price + Cost of Carry

In general, the Futures price is greater than the spot price. In special cases, when cost of carry is negative, the Futures price
may be lower than Spot prices.
Term PREMIUM & DISCOUNT : (In Futures) (Reports > Derivative Summary Report)
Premium = Futures Price > Spot Price
Discount = Futures Price < Spot Price
Profit & Risk of Futures Trader.
Gets Unlimited Profit Potential (until he sells)
Profit = (Market Price of Futures - Purchase Price of Futures) x Contract Size
Can also face Unlimited Risk. (until he sells)
Loss = (Purchase Price of Futures - Market Price of Futures) x Contract Size
IRIS provides Contract-wise Future chart and also Continuous Future charts.
Continuous charts gives long term impression. Many Analyst generally prefer Contract-wise chart as it gives the correct builtup of a contract from the time the contract started.
Option charts are only for the period of the contract.
Understanding Options (Call and Put)
It gives the right but not the obligation to sell.
When Bullish buy Call option
When Bearish buy Put option
Terms explained.
Strike Price : It is the price at which the stock will be bought or sold when the option is
exercised. Strike price is used in the case of options only. Generally in Indian markets traders do not follow the concept of
Exercising an Option. We follow European method where its automatically exercised on the Contract Expiry.
Traders generally just buy an Option and Sell it when the premium rises.
Premium : The price paid to acquire the option.

The charts of Options actually show the rising or falling Premium value.
Put & Call Ratio : Volume of put option contracts / Volume of call option contracts.
When the Put/Call Ratio is high (meaning more puts are being traded than calls) it means that the sentiment is bearish and
vice-verse.
If the value is...
More than 1 - Then Put Volume is more than Call Volume.
Less than 1 - Then Call volume is more than Put Volume.
Moneyness - Moneyness of an option indicates whether an option is worth exercising or not i.e. if the option is exercised by
the buyer of the option whether he will receive money or not. Moneyness of an option should not be confused with the profit
and loss arising from holding an option contract. It should be noted that while moneyness of an option does not depend on the
premium paid, profit/loss do. Thus a holder of an in-the-money option need not always make profit as the profitability also
depends on the premium paid.
In the Money
In the Money - An option is said to be in-the-money if on exercising the option, it would produce a cash inflow for the buyer.
Call Spot Price > Strike Price.
Put - Spot Price < Strike Price.
Out of the Money
An option-holder will not exercise the option when it is out-of-the-money.
Call Spot Price < Strike Price.
Put Spot Price > Strike Price.

At the money
For Call & Put - Spot price = Strike Price
Example of Buying a Call Option.
For the buyer of a Nifty 5650 call option.

As the spot Nifty rises, the call option is in-the-money.

If upon expiration, Nifty closes above the strike of 5650, the buyer would exercise his option and profit to the extent of the
difference between the Nifty-close and the strike price. The profits possible on this option are potentially unlimited. However if
Nifty falls below the strike of 5650, he lets the option expire. His losses are limited to the extent of the premium he paid for
buying the option.
Understanding Options Calculator
Press ALT+O, It will automatically pick values from the chart.
Interest Rate and Volatility has to be entered properly to get the right figures.
For Volatility, the Implied Volatility can be calculated by entering the Option Price.
The Interest rate is usually the risk free borrowed rate of interest prevailing in the market.
Delta
Delta value measures the rate of change of option value with respect to changes in the underlying asset's price. Example When
the call option is deep in-the-money and has a delta of 1, then the call will move point for point in the same direction as
movements in the underlying asset.
Delta is always positive for calls and negative for puts.
Vega
Vega is typically expressed as the amount of money per underlying share that the option's value will gain or lose as volatility
rises or falls by 1%.
Theta, (Yearly)
The amount the Option will loose as per day passes. (rate of decay).
Theta is almost always negative for long calls and puts and positive for short (or written) calls and puts.
Rho
The amount the Option value will gain or loose as interest rate rises or falls by 1%.
Gama
The rate of Change in the delta with respect to the change in the underlying asset price.
