Amanda did a good job with her lesson. She prepared visuals and thought about how to engage the students with the story. She had the students turn and talk about what they were thinking and wondering, which kept them engaged. Amanda used an appropriate voice and reminded students of expectations, which helped with transitions. She effectively wrapped up the lesson by recapping what it was about. The cooperating teacher signed off that Amanda met the criteria.

ED 215R Lesson Three Amanda did a very nice job with this lesson. She put a lot of work into the visuals for the lesson and in preparing what to do. She showed lots of wonderings that she was thinking about in relationship to the story she was about to read and while reading the story. Good modeling. She touched her head to emphasize that she was thinking about something. She did a nice job having them turn and talk about what they were thinking: makes me wonder, surprises me, makes me think about. They spent a nice amount of time turning and talking not too long or short. It may not be necessary to have them turn and talk a second time. The students were engaged and liked the lesson. It was a good idea to use the word clock for a signal to them to leave the carpet and get started with their work. Nice job reminding them of transition times. Amanda used a good voice tone throughout her whole lesson. She caught kids doing what they were suppose to be doing and let the class know she saw it by telling the them sparking others to get started. Amanda did a great job recapping and wrapping up the lesson coming back to what the lesson was all about.
