AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING TWO (2) POSITIONS - ONE (1)
ADMINISTRATIVE AIDE (1), SIG 118, ITEM NO. 40, AND ONE (1)
ADMINSTRATIVE AIDE (1 ), S/G 118 ITEM NO. 49 SANGGUNIANG
PANLUNGSOD AND THE CREATION OF ONE (1) POSITION - CITY
GOVERNMENT ASSISTANT DEPARTMENT HEAD II, SIG 24,
SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD AND APPROPRIATING THE
NECESSARY FUNDS THEREOF

Grace L. Baronda, Joshua C. Alim, Liezl, Joy Zulueta-Salazar, and Lyndon V. Acap
WHEREAS, last January 7, 2016 the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod
received a letter from Hon. Jose S. Espinosa III, City Vice Mayor;
WHEREAS, the letter includes the request of Hon. Jose S. Espinosa III, City Vice Mayor
the abolition of two (2) positions - One (1) Administrative Aide I, SIG 1/8 Item No. 40 and One
(1) Administrative Aide I, SIG 118 Item No. 40, Sangguniang Panlungsod and the creation of One
(1)- City Government Asst. Dept. Head II, SIG 24, Sangguniang Panlungsod;
WHEREAS, Section 76 of Republic Act 7106 states that:

Sec. 76 "Every LGU shall design and implement its own structure and
staffing pattern taking into consideration its service requirements and
financial capability, subject to the minimum standards and guidelines
prescribed by the Civil Service Commission".

WHEREAS, the abolition and creation entails minimal cost on the part of the Iloilo City
Government, as such said position is deemed necessary, urgent and for the best interest of the
service.
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Iloilo,
that:
Section 1. Two (2) positions are hereby abolished, to wit:

Section 2. - There is hereby created the position of City Government Assistant Department
Head II, S/G 24, Sangguniang Panlungsod, Iloilo City;
Section 3. - Item No. 74, Board Secretary IV, S/G 22, ONCE VACATED, will be
abolished to augment the budget of the proposed created position.
Section 4. - There is hereby appropriated the necessary funding for the purpose.
Section 4.

This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
